Love this place. Beautiful hiking trails and trout fishing certain times of the year.

What a great campsite. A little difficult to get to. I wouldn't recommend going with a trailer. It's a strictly tent or truck camper area

Although not big on the full primitive camping ( No shower house) the area is beautiful. Could use some rules about the late night 4-wheelers but all in all we had a great time..Restrooms: OUT-HOUSE

Was absolutely beautiful well kept! You drive all the way down into the valley where the campground is located so be prepared for some expert level driving as well coming in from the south the road is very very curvy. Don't recommend showing up at dusk as deer are running and hard to see the campground is beyond a flood zone so in heavy rain season may nit be passable will definitely be back!!

To begin, I cant disagree, this campground is beautiful. The creekbed is dry right now and you are able to walk it pretty much as far as you will. Tons of river stone, little fishes, and beautiful foliage to keep your attention. Decently maintained with sites that are graveled and laid out in a comfortable fashion. Some sites are larger than others and each layout is a little different with a different view.Turkey Foot loop is not bad for hiking. Be forewarned, the traverse up the hill on the trail has washed and is quite a trek. Make sure you wear good hiking boots/shoes. The forest views make the trail worth it. Not the hardest Ive hiked but pushes you a bit for sure.I have some complaints and I think it needs to be said as those who are looking for the peace and quiet of this campground will be sorely disappointed. Was here for 3 days and never saw a park ranger. People are taking advantage of this.Generators were an issue. There were 2 campers that had generators. Neither generator was silent or in a box of any kind. One site almost appeared to be homesteading, which you cannot do in the Daniel Boone system. The generators made the peace we were seeking unattainable and sleep was impossible. Also dogs. Our dog was with us and is a very sweet and well trained animal. Others are not. I should be able to traverse the campground without your dog trying to eat me or bark me off the side of the road. I should also be able to sleep without a dog barking me awake every time a leaf rustles.Long story summed up, Turkey Foot is lovely and was a hidden gem. However, it no longer appears to be a hidden gem and with more people comes more problems. Especially when the park rangers do not have a presence. Disappointed with this times experience. People can be better.

Free camping, cool spot for summer swimming. Good hiking and mountain bikes. Motorized ATVs are noisy and dangerous, must be outlawed from family friendly campgrounds like this

This campground was excellent.Set on the western side of the blue ridge mountains overlooking a great creek supplied by along the side.It is not rv friendly. However, I got in and out ok with my 27-foot Imagine. Had go divert the super tight left leaving by going up the mountain foe a mile to an easy turn around.Turkey season packs this camp.

Beautiful camp ground, sites are secluded, and spaced far enough away from each other for plenty of privacy. Very quiet and peaceful during the day. No electricity or water, but we knew that before going. My only complaint is that we never saw a park ranger or anyone patrol the grounds the entire time that we were there, and there is alot of suspicious activity after dark. There is absolutely no traffic through the campground during the day, but it turns into a very busy place at night with the same people coming in and out every night multiple times a night at all hours. It seems that they were running a "business" there if you know what I mean. Which was a little scary to be around.

Simple camping in a young forest. Very quiet. There is a long gravel road with many sites. No fire rings, primitive pack in and pack out. Not really a destination campsite, but great for a stopover if you are in the area. We had no trouble finding a place for our teardrop and could even park a small camper.

Crazy drive to the campsite. We even had to do a small stream crossing to enter it. It is remote and well maintained and the sites are can accommodate tents and small campers. The sites have fire rings and picnic tables. It does have rustic restrooms with no running water. Nice stream that runs next to it.

A nice campground with minimal amenities or creature comforts, but the simplicity was great. There are tent sites with picnic tables, fire pits, and vault toilets nearby. There are no trash receptacles so plan to pack out your trash.

Such a beautiful dispersed camping ground. It was a little rainy when I went, and no one else was there. But that made it even that much more enjoyable!
