We were camping in the area and our dog got sick. The clinic agreed to see him even though the vets had full schedule. They took wonderful care of him. Thank you for caring for our dog.

I'm not a fan of posting negative information on FB - without giving the business owner a chance to remedy the situation but PET OWNERS' BEWARE!!!!!!!!!
Friday evening, I had an emergency with my dog on Cave Run Lake. I googled "closest vet near me" and got Morehead Veterinary Clinic. I called the office at 5:01, told them my situation, my location and WAS INSTRUCTED TO BRING HER ON IN! Their normal closing time was 5:30 On the way, I tried calling to tell them my ETA but no one answered. Why would they tell me to come on it in if they didn't intend to stay? At 5:53 I pulled into the parking lot and NOBODY WAS THERE!!! My heart sank!!!!! I called the emergency number for the vet and he told me they left for the day! My phone log shows 6 calls to them to share my location but they NEVER tried calling me to say they were leaving. THEY JUST CLOSED KNOWING MY DOG WAS INJURED andthat we were on our way! Had I known they wouldn't be there, I would have gone straight to Richmond, saving my dog pain from her injury.
DIFFERENCE: I called Advanced Animal Care in Richmond and explained the same situation. They registered her in, told me to drive safely, and they would meet me soon. I pulled in and TWO people met me in the parking lot.... a vet tech took my dog straight back to E.R. (in case she was bleeding, in shock, etc.) and admin guided me to check me in. I was given updates every few minutes to let me know what was going on with her.
Please take your vet to an office with compassion and empathy. Morehead Veterinary Clinic did not care one ounce for my injured pet. She may be just a number to them but she is my family!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been taking my two poodles to Morehead Veterinary Clinic for the past several years, and I can tell you with certainty that the entire staff is top-notch; warm, friendly, caring, and quite knowledgeable, and, in addition, the facility is very clean. During my last three visits, I was served by Dr. Stansbury, and I cannot say enough good things about him. He was very generous with his time, answering all of my questions thoroughly, explaining in great detail the illness my pets were experiencing, and provided for them the best course of treatment for their health condition and, all the while, demonstrating genuine compassion for their well-being. By the way, I have worked with Dr. Crouch also, and she, too, is amazing! Finally, the supporting staff, Whitney and Cheyenne in particular (I hope I spelled their names properly), are also awesome. I wouldn't trust my precious doggies with anyone else.

Having worked in the animal field for the past 37 yrs, I have encounter many vets and clinic's. When your own baby gets hurt, I found out this was one of the most caring & professional veterinarian staff including the techs that work there. I would highly recommend them to anyone in the Morehead area. Thank you for caring for my baby-girl Cricket, she on the road to recovery, thanks to them.

My dog recently had some medical issues. He (and I) were met with compassion, caring and medical expertise that was explained well and treated appropriately. The team has been very responsive and helpful in subsequent phone calls. Dr Crouch and her team are excellent clinicians.

I will not take my baby anywhere else. They care for your pets like their own and they truly care! The doc is super nice, understanding and knowledgeable! They got my 15 year old toy poodle feeling like a pup again!

Awesome group of people, DVM.Stansberry and DVM.Crouch are very experienced and knowledgeable and offer their expertise at very fairy rates. These folks aren't trying to break the bank, the veterinarian assistants are awesome as well. If you got a sick animal give them a call ASAP
