Ruth Hunt Candies is one of the original Kentucky candy companies, founded in 1921. It is a great little hometown establishment where the candy is made on premises in the factory at the back of the store. The company specializes in traditional Kentucky confections, using original recipes and traditional methods. Their selection includes Kentucky Pulled Cream Candy, Blue Monday Candy Bars, Bourbon Balls, Bourbon Caramels, and a full line of assorted chocolates. Many consider the cream candy and salted caramels to be the best. The store itself is clean and neatly arranged with a nearly endless variety of candies on the shelves. It also offers a great selection of Kentucky gear, souvenirs, and cookbooks. The staff is amazing, attentive, and very helpful. While the candy is on the expensive side, it is delicious and worth every penny. The business is a favorite and a must-stop in Mt. Sterling, and they ship worldwide with a catalog available.
They have a little bit of everything!!! Associate was very friendly and helpful. This was my first time and I'll come from Ashland again for my second!
