About Bauernfeind Student Recreation and Wellness Center
The Bauernfeind Student Recreation and Wellness Center is a large, well-maintained facility offering a variety of amenities for faculty, staff, students, and their families. Covering 73,000 square feet, it features three full-size basketball courts, two racquetball courts, and an Olympic-sized pool with a leisure pool, whirlpool, vortex, and water bench. The center also has a 1/11 mile indoor track surrounding the second level, along with cardio machines like treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, and rowing machines. There are resistance training areas, free weights, and two aerobic studios for fitness classes. A lounge with couches, televisions, computers, billiards, and ping pong tables provides a relaxing space. Both locker rooms have direct access to the pool. Visitors appreciate the cleanliness, friendly staff, and the variety of activities available. However, some note that hours are limited during university breaks and holidays due to staffing, which can restrict access during these times.
