Me and my family went on the Santa train. It was GREAT!! We got there early like suggested and we picked up our tickets and looked in the gift shop and got to look in the Museum of all the cool stuff they had about trains they even had a track that was as long as the building with the town and cars and businesses it was so cool. They had photo spots to take pictures. We had hot chocolate and got to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus. They road the train with us and took pictures. The train was decorated so pretty. They had lights on the ceiling and gifts and garland on the racks it was so nice we will do it again for sure. At the end of the ride they had snow machines blowing foam snow it was like Christmas it was so much fun.

We joined the grandkids for The Santa Express. Perhaps our expectations were out of line. We had hoped for a Christmas decorated train chugging through some nifty Christmas lights. The exterior of the train was old, faded paint. The interior had a strand of lights extending the length of each car. And the luggage racks had lots of wrapped boxes. There was no one to lead Christmas carols. No one to give us any history of the woods & fields we chugged through. (one "conductor" told us there was a field where a decisive civil was battle took place). Late on the ride back, Frosty, Santa & Mrs Claus walked the aisles. Some Elves gave the kids a commemorative button. I saw folks dozing off. We were all ready for the ride to end. And we were pleasantly surprised to arrive to "snow". I think the Santa Express has a lot of room to grow. One other thing, don't expect to post much. Cell signal was non-existent.

A group of about twenty of us, ranging in ages from 2-70, went on the North Pole Express (or whatever the night time Santa thing is.) It was $27 whether you're two or fifty years old. We booked the trip online so that we could sit together. However, we were dispersed throughout all of the cars. We rode very slowly down the tracks through, basically, a run down trailer park then stopped in front of a random person's house with a tacky light display and a mounted buck, with a red nose, nailed to a barn window, which was apparently the North Pole that we had all come to see. There were no words spoken to inform us that we were, in fact, experiencing the climax of the trip. Actually, there were no words spoken over the intercom, period. But they did, without explanation, turn off every single light in the train for an unnecessary amount of time, apparently to allow us to take in all of what is the North Pole. After that, we just went backwards the same way we came. At different times during the ride a snowman, Mr. and Mrs. Claus, a reindeer, and a few poorly dressed elves walked down the aisle. That was the only time there was any music or singing (which was not enthusiastic and some of the crew didn't even know the words) and the speaker just played constant static. The best part was the fake snow when we got off the train. Overall, it was very underwhelming and just kinda bizarre. For $5? Maybe. Don't waste your money.

We went for the Christmas train ride and it was a great time! Kids get pics with Mrs Claus before the train ride. During the train ride Santa comes through and greets the kids, then theres free pics with Santa afterwards. The train cars are decorated very pretty with hanging lights down the middle. Only thing I didn't like was you couldn't see much scenery since the train ride was in the evening and the lights inside the train were too bright so if you're wanting to see scenery during the ride you'll want to go during the day. This is something we will do every year during Christmas. Well worth the cost.

We had a fantastic time on the Santa Brunch train ride. Took about 30 mins to get to the brunch location- log still event venue- the legacy which was BEAUTIFUL. Food was delicious and so much to eat, coloring, hot cocoa bar Santa stickers and pretzel dipping for the kiddos. Mimosa and Bloody Mary at the pay by glass bar. Santa and Mrs Claus really made an effort to get around and talk to all the kids in the venue and on the train. On the train the train they sang Christmas music. The train was nicely decorated, comfortable and good space. When you arrive back they have a "snow" machine out with little foam balls and the kids just loved it. We missed out on the green room to the right which had photo ops. There's also a museum inside that was small but nice to look at. If looking at the Santa brunch ride, I'd highly recommend!! Such a fun event

My first time on a train and was not disappointed. It gives a great taste of experience with a short ride through a small town, crossing a couple of bridges and through scenic wooded area.A quiet ride while hearing the train whistle and the conductor punching tickets.

We went on a themed trip where dressing up was encouraged. It was a good time, on the platform they had games to play, interactive performances, samplings, and food for the price of the ticket that was affordable for every thing that was included. The two spots of dissatisfaction were the train ride itself wasn’t until dark, we spent a bunch of the time playing games and going to the different tables that by the time the train was set to take off it was too dark to see anything out the windows which is a major point of interest in riding on a train. We couldn’t see anything outside. The other point was that one of the train employees made two very crass and disrespectful comments towards our group. At first, during the dessert that we were served on the train, which was roughly a piece of cheesecake, the employee looked at one of the girls of our group and said “now you know what that will do to your figure” it was very rude to serve someone and then discourage them from eating because it will “ruin their figure.”The second comment was by the same employee who addressed the train as “ladies” which it was mostly women on the train. However, there were a few men on the train and so it was pointed out by another passenger on the train “and gentleman…” as we were the closest group that had men in attendance to him, he looked at our group and gave a cross face while saying “I’m not sure of that” before continuing with his announcement. All in all, the event was fun and outside of that one employee everyone was nice!

Cute little museum with the biggest model HO train set I've ever seen! ?You could spend an hour looking at that and not see everything.?If you book a train ride, the ?️ includes the museum. They have several different events during the year which sell out immediately. Especially the lunch train ride. They have a dining car and a kitchen car ?They have a lot of iron at this place! They have almost raised enough money to restore their ?steam engine!?

I reserve seats, and when I got to the train, everyone was told to sit where they wanted the overbooked it was crowded. Five of us had to sit on one bench, so the bench in front of us let us use a little spot on their bench. It was ridiculous to pay that much money, and not have anywhere to sit and not get to sit where I had reserved and that advertise pumpkin patch, someone had picked the pumpkins and laid them out in the grass. That's not a pumpkin patch Vary disappointed.

I thought riding a train would be fun so we took the kids but it was uneventful. Even though the train robbery was the experience we choose it left much to be desired. The assistants on the trains where less than professional but still friendly. The acting was 1 out of 5. They let us have the shot gun shells which again was nice but the shoot out didn’t even happen where we could see it so it just seemed like random gunshots. Again the people were nice but it wasn’t great.

Fantastic train ride. I'm biased because I rode in the locomotive. If you can get that ticket, get it. The train ride is very scenic. The museum is nice and has a lot of L&N stuff in it. Everyone I talked to at the museum was knowledgeable about the things there and they couldn't have been nicer. I was last there eighteen years ago and it's really improved since then.

Staff is super friendly, but they take you out and then reverse the train and you go back the same way. We've had several rides here and they've all been like this.Wonder if there are rides that take you on a loop, but I'm thinking there are not.

1 star because I can’t give zero! Don’t even know where to begin! Clean coaches will be a step up very dusty, smelly, the A/C was barely on , rusty some places. Nothing in it looked kid friendly except some cheap paper decorations hanging on the coaches’ ceiling. The music from the speakers was muffled, hard to distinguish due to cheap equipment and kids screaming. The little train for kids to ride in an oval shape a few times has just 3 coaches, imagine the anguish of little ones waiting on a big line wanting to ride on a hot summer day. The whole event should be discontinued, if I knew how horrible it is i wouldn't have attended. A complete RIP OFF. An event that kids attend because i am certainly not a fan of Thomas, should have discounted tickets for kids. 2 adults and 1 kid price $80.55. The view on the ride is depressing, “ghost” train coaches on both sides , rusted and left to the mercy of mother nature. This event doesn't even deserve to be free! TRULLY HORRIBLE!
