Buyer beware! They have been charging me for a wellness plan that banfield breached the contract when they refused services due to the age of the dog ie- teeth cleaning etc. they refuse services but still expect you to pay the full price of all the services, then they update all the info to mt dad (therefore I never got a bill, it should have been cancelled, as I had not had the dog in 2 years. I have filed a BBB COMPLAINT. If you check out bbb, they are not a accredited bbb company with over 1000 complaints due to the wellness plan, this is a fraud and have been charging under my name… fraudulently, then charge 800 to MY CREDIT. I do not have the dog… I haven’t had the dog in 2 years, they should uphold their end of the agreement, if they can’t then credit what they will offer the pet rather than withholding services and not letting anyone cancel the program. File a BBB complaint, this place is a fraud and unprofessional.

Over Priced. I had to put my dog down because of cancer, and they still want me to pay 400 to get out of my contract.

Buyer beware! When being sold/purchasing a pet wellness plan from this store, be aware of terms used such as “pre paid services, expiration date for services, auto renewal, automatic plan changes/upgrades/modifications on renewal.” Associates will use some of these terms when selling you the plan, while other terms are embedded in the contracts language that will be triggered on renewal without the owners consent. Our experience with this location has been extremely poor and we would not recommend its services. We feel we were and have been mislead on multiple occasions regarding plan renewals, monthly charges, services provided, changes/modifications to the plan. Here are a few things to be aware of…1) the actual length of the plan the owners obligated to….the plan is for 12 months…we were told there was a 24 month obligation when trying to non-renew after the first 12 months.2) The associates use of the statement that the vet services are “pre-paid,” this is a misstatement and we feel misleading. The associates of Banfield using this statement, facilitates and leads to an owners misunderstanding and confusion regarding the plan. Payment for services under the plans are not prepaid…they are paid for in arrears and considered only paid in full upon reaching the plans renewal date.3) Automatic Renewal - The plan auto renews and can and will be upgraded by Banfield to a more costly, monthly rate without your consent. We were told that the contracts language states, Banfeild can modify the plan upon renewal if they feel it’s in the pets best interest. Example…adding dental coverage for the pet and thus increasing the monthly charge. You may not be aware of this until after the plan renewal and your first higher, monthly deduction out of your bank account. However, by this time the plan has already renewed and you are obligated for 12 more months.4) Mid term plan modifications - If you change the plans coverage mid term, example….removing the pet dental coverage that was added at renewal, without the owners consent, the plan will be extended to a new 12 month plan upon the date of the change. So if you are 6 months into the renewal of the plan your “modified” plan will actually run an additional 12 months from the date you removed the pet dental coverage. (Which was automatically added at renewal without your consent)Lastly….You would be bettered served having vet services provided a different veterinary group. ..BUYER BEWARE!!

The Newport ky location is the worst vet and most unprofessional staff. They are money hungry and not transparent with treatment and cost. The staff and management is disrespectful and will try to blindside you with treatment and cost not requested DO NOT GO HERE! Save yourself the time, money and poor service.

Terrible experience. I dropped off my dogs at 10 am and they called me to pick them up at 5:30 pm and charged me $80 for each of my dogs for being there at 6:05 pm. I wish I could cancel my insurance and change to a different and better one. Very disappointed.

Treated my dog awfully!I have been a banfield customer for 4 years. I love the plan because I travel a lot, and I can always get my dog it, wherever I am. I have overall been very happy with Banfield, their plan, and how they have treated my dog. However, I went to drop my dog off for an appointment two days ago, and the tech that came to pick him up was awful. My dog is very sweet, obedient, and well trained. When the tech was trying to put leash around my dogs leg, he gently pulled his leg out. The tech stuck him on his nose and meanly growled "NO"... right in front of me... She then took him back, yanking and dragging him by his neck.I did not feel good about this at all and requested that my dog be brought out right away and we left.

Overall a good experience to keep pets up to date on shots and exams but not too great if you have an emergency since they tend to tell you we are busy so come in two days…. Doesn’t work with an emergency…

I’d give them a zero if I could. The absolute negligence this location has demonstrated is astounding. We brought a newly adopted, five year old dog for his first visit shortly after we brought him home. Everything health wise seemed fine, save some potty training issues. We mentioned this to the vet who not only ignored our concerns, but shamed us for not being attentive or aware enough to be able to potty train a shelter dog.Fast forward three months and we’re back at the vet after our dog starts vomiting constantly. After literal hours of waiting (and $270), they informed us that the urine and bloodwork that they had done during our first visit was either lost, misread, or entered into their system incorrectly. We were never given a legitimate explanation for why this issue occurred, but our dog was now (and had been) suffering from severe kidney problems. This would explain the potty training/pee issues we had been experiencing, although the get went out of his way to shame us into believing we were the issue. They wanted more money to run more tests and I declined in favor of seeing another vet. I was then scolded and told that I was “refusing treatment.”At our new vet, we had to do emergency kidney removal surgery due to severe kidney stones. He passed a week later. Had we been given the correct information from Banfield months before, there is a better chance he could’ve been saved. Regardless, if he still had passed he would have at least not been in the severe amount of pain he was experiencing. We went back and forth with the office for a short period of time without luck. I began to start the paperwork for small claims court. Corporate got involved and quickly refunded all of the money we had spent between our two visits. They knew how bad they screwed up and wanted us to go away quickly. For better or worse, this is common with this practice (and Banfield as a whole).Avoid Banfield like the plague if you love your dog. They’re a gas station vet practice at best.

Do not get the Wellness Plan. Even if something happens to the animal they will not let you out and you're paying for services you will never receive. Will never take my dog there.

Go to a good vet. We got a new cat and took him here out of convenience. We wanted to know his health, age, get his nails trimmed etc. they took him back for 5 minutes if not less and told us he had fleas. We believed them because why wouldn't we and bought a 60$ flea collar. After doing some thinking we don't think they even looked at him. He has no fleas or flea dirt and only one of his nails was trimmed. We are pretty sure they just took him back for a couple minutes and then gave him back to us
