Hours: The Daniel Pitino Shelter is a very caring place for the homeless who need help and is a remarkable place in the community. It is a great place that is helping out the community and is considered by far the best homeless shelter in Owensboro. It is the greatest for families who are struggling, including single mothers, single women, and single dads, but does not accept single men. The program works if you work it, helping people pave the way to a new self-sufficient life. The staff are friendly, very kind, very helpful, and awesome. They go above and beyond to help people get established, providing deep roots in the community for those willing to help themselves. The security is awesome. The shelter provides many services, including a donation room for clothes, on-site washer and dryer, and daily meals. They provide donuts and coffee every morning, lunch daily, and dinner nightly. They also operate a soup kitchen, which is a welcomed gift to Owensboro. The shelter accepts donations and encourages people to volunteer or donate some of their time. It is a Christian-based and blessed shelter.
