There were a couple mistaken orders in the 5 minutes I was there, then leave to see that mine was also wrong. The girls there were pretty rude as well, you know it’s bad when everyone around you is laughing at the terrible service.

I know why the phones always busy, when I called after trying for 45 min and kept getting busy signal I finally got thru to immediately being put on hold for 11 minutes before giving up. My husband instead went there and put our order in. Nothing but young teenagers and young adults working there that absolutely hate their jobs. It took him 25 min to get his order after he placed it and the girls were so rude. They come to the window and instead of speaking just stand there and wait til u tell them what u want which is very weird The food was garbage, the thing is I don't blame the young girls because teenagers are going to be teenagers but why not pay a decent wage to where someone can work there that actually needs and wants a job before this place goes out of business. I really am being generous by giving one star. I wish I could honestly give this zero stars. Just a shame to see how this place has gone downhill. I don't need a generic reply to my review saying how sorry Dairy Queen is for my experience just do better geez, This place used to be great just sad, The prices have gotten crazy and service /food has gotten worse . Make it make sense. The pics is how long I was on hold before giving up, my ham and cheese that was supposed to have everything on it and doesn't have anything on it and old greased soaked mushrooms. If I felt like wasting another $10 in gas I would demand to get my money back. Fries were soggy with burnt ones mixed in (didn't get a pic) my dogs wouldn't even eat this

The hot dogs was nasty. As if they had dunk hot dog bun and milk. That was the first time I had ever got hot dogs like that. Hopefully it was a one-time thing. Dairy Queen usually has the best hot dogs around. But these hot dog was nasty.

This place is a joke now. High school kid workers that don't care about anyone or anything. Runny ice cream, messed up orders, and when its pointed out, all you get is an eyeroll and a window slammed in your face.

I have always loved coming in from out of state and eating here, but today, the hotdogs were awful. They were rubbery, and the sauce tasted terrible. We paid over $50.00 and couldn't even eat the food. My 4 year old and 1 year old grandbabies wouldn't eat it either, and they like pretty much anything. I'm was so disappointed.

This is an updated review for DQ in Paintsville. First off I've been coming to this little DQ for as long as I've been able to eat solid foods! In the last 2 years quality of the food has declined and the prices have gone up. The service has declined with orders being wrong, employee's attitudes are poor and the overall look of the building is run down. The sauce on the hot dogs seems to be from a can and I also had a family member get a bun that was MOLDY on the inside.Warning to those who are non smokers.... you can sometimes be bombarded with cigarette smoke from customers waiting on orders. The ice cream is the only decent thing there anymore!!

Waited 30 plus minutes for my order. While numerous call-ins get served. The people standing in front of the restaurant should have priority. And my order was wrong and one sandwich was missing. Don't bother calling to complain, they say whatever to pacify the situation but never make it right.

The price of the food needs to go down. $4.00 for a lousy hotdog, come on. That just one example. But the service and atmosphere or surroundings is great.

Breakfast was really good. There is usually only one worker for breakfast so you must be patient but it was good and fairly priced.

Flies and cobwebs inside in plain view. Strawberry milkshake tasted weird. I've worked at a DQ in downtown Pikeville that was nowhere near that poorly kept up but both are still questionable to quality and cleanliness standards.

Food was ok. Service was great. Don't like the fact I have to stand outside or wait in my car for my food. Really need to have an indoor area.

It pains my soul deeply that the Paintsville Dairy Queen has anything less than a solid 5.0 stars. Personally, I think that speaks more to some of the reviewers but I digress...The Paintsville Dairy Queen is legendary and for very good reason. Unless you've spent significant time in Paintsville, this Dairy Queen is unlike any DQ that you have ever experienced. Folks still take your order manually, jotting down on paper and doing the math to total it up (no calculators), then you're handed a paper slip with a three-digit code that will be announced over the loudspeaker. If the vintage ambiance and "Outlaw DQ" vibe isn't enough to win you over, the food will. From a genuine Paintsville native, here's the quintessential Paintsville DQ order:- Foot-long hotdog with sauce and slaw- Onion rings- Butterscotch or peanut butter milkshakeSome fellow natives claim that the meat sauce recipe has changed significantly from the 90s. Rumor has it, the lady responsible for the recipe -- a Slone, I believe -- took her patented meat sauce formula to the grave with her. Be that as it may, whatever recipe is in effect now works also satisfies, at least in my book. However, I've only been able to visit Paintsville once or twice annually since moving away in 2003, so nostalgia admittedly makes me an easy grader.Kid-friendliness: This place is so wholesome. It's great for kids.Parking: Paintsville isn't very busy and most seem to get their orders to-go, so parking isn't an issue. Even if it is, there are other parking lots nearby from which you can walk.
