We went for a ride on a beautiful, breezy weekday morning (no b&b as we live close). This was way not like a regular trail ride at all. So much more! We started with brushing the horses down - there was a lot of talk interspersed about proper riding technique and attitudes when around horses. As an inexperienced rider, I found this immensely helpful to get out some of the jitters (let's face it - if you're not used to being around them, horses are BIG and strong, and can be pretty intimidating). We then mounted, rode to a practice arena, were given instruction, and learned how to... in a word... ride a horse. The ride after was amazing - it is "real" riding, not just being led around. You get to build a rapport with the horse, do different gaits, go on different surfaces. Overall, an absolutely amazing experience - I am not sure there is any better way to spend a morning that I can think of. A must-do experience if you are anywhere within a 90 minute drive, IMO. We will be back!

Awesome time at First Farm Inn! We go skiing once a year and everyone in the family insists on staying here when we go. Comfortable, friendly, and fun, I have zero complaints about time spent on the farm. From feeding and riding horses to custom homemade breakfast every morning, they do it all. Next time you're in the area give First Farm a try; you won't regret it.

I had a wonderful, relaxing and adventurous time at the First Farm Inn. The host Jen was a delight! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will definitely be back in the near future. If you enjoy the company of animals this is the place for you!I went on two horseback rides and Jen was willing to accommodate even more if I wanted. The setting for riding is varied for the novice as well as experienced rider. I am a beginner (at 60) and both Jen and Carolyn were consistently helpful while allowing me space to get a feel for things on my own too. ALL of the 7 horses and one mule were sweet natured, calm and interested in interacting with people. It's clear to see they are well cared for and loved. There are also a plethora of goats, cats and dogs. The accommodations are inviting, comfortable and clean. They seem to have thought of every amenity that might be needed but are open to suggestions if you have any. Jen offers a unique and diverse menu to choose from. I had biscuits and gravy (Carolyn recommended) which were served with eggs, pastries and fresh fruit plate plus beverages. Everything was homemade and delicious.I highly recommend staying here. It was close to The Creation Museum and a short trip to the Ark Encounter if you are looking for other things to do in the area.Rooms: Large size bedroom with private bathroom. Comfortable and clean. All amenities were included that I wanted and some that I did not use (TV, fridge)Nearby activities: The Creation Museum, The Ark EncounterSafety: Quiet county settingNoteworthy details: Horseback riding, relaxing or active, animals, horses, goats, dogs, cats

My husband and I booked the two hour trail ride with Jen for a birthday celebration and it was beyond expectations. Jen is incredibly knowledgeable and made us as beginner riders feel confident and comfortable with our horses. I highly recommend this place if you want to truly learn about horses and how to respect them so you and your horse are in sync during the ride. We learned the basic commands and proper posture before exploring the farm and various trails. We got to give the horses a carrot treat at the end and cool them down with a bath. 10/10 experience here and would return in a heartbeat. Jen and the others have such big hearts and clearly take such good care of their horses, goats, cats and dogs on the property. ?

2 couples on a weekend adventure. Lovely rooms, 1 up and 1 down. The host clearly loves to cook. Unique and delicious breakfasts. Always a cake or sweet, fresh fruit with breakfast. Ride a horse while you are there.3 minutes from the highway and very much off the beaten path.Thank you,

Terribly rude. Bad communication. I was looking to rent a stall for the night for our friesian stallion lothbrook on our way through Cincinnati. We wouldn't ever call again while through the area.

First Farm Inn was my dream vacation! I loved the people, they were super nice, all the animals, and overall experience. My favorite part as an experienced rider was cantering up the hills and i loved that i got the freedom to groom and saddle my own horse. The riding trails were amazing, it was fun to go into a valley then into the woods and travel through different terrains. I would definitely recommend this place if you are an animal lover like me and are looking for a place to ride with people who care about you.

The hot tub on a chilly night, delicious breakfasts and a relaxing environment made it the perfect time away. Jan, Dana and Carolyn are wonderful! Such a blessed weekend!

After finishing my MD (Mothering Duties) for the day on this Mother's Day 2022, I decided to go off duty for a bit & visit First Farm Inn in Petersburg KY- I googled and saw they offered trail rides. I had never been there before and was pretty sure they wouldn't be able to accommodate on such short notice. BUT THEY DID, and it was INCREDIBLE (& healing & fun & adventurous & just what I needed). Jen, the owner, is the original horse-whisperer. You can tell that she loves each and every one of her equines. After getting a much-needed refresher course, we roamed the property, where I was the lucky one to partner with Buster, a 16+h beautiful barrel chested mount. He was gentle with my inexperienced style but worldly enough to show this old girl a good time. Jen and her Staff made sure I was able to do just what I had hoped to do and more. If I could give My experience more than five ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I would do it!Next we're going to try the Bed & Breakfast (along with a trail ride). If the warmth and courtesies displayed today play out when we stay at the Inn, I already know it's going to be great!! Thanks, Jen, for sharing Buster today - It's been a Mother's Day that I won't soon forget!

We didn't do the Bed and Breakfast only the horseback riding and it was the total experience. You don't just hop on and ride. You are taught all about your horse, you actually clean and saddle the horse. Jen gives you tips on how to handle the horses with care. It was such a fun time. Looking forward to bringing our kids back with us.
