I had my son there for a little over a year. The children are treates as more of a commodity than young people to be cultured and helped to learn and grow. It seems to all be about the money here. That in itself is understandable, that a buisness wants to be as profitable as possible. The issue really starts with verbally and physically abusive teachers. On two occasions I had to speak with management about teachers being verbally abusive. Today I took my son out and let them know I'm not coming back.He was afraid to go in because he didn't want the teacher to hurt him again. He showed me on his arms where he was grabbed. There are bruises on each arm right where he said he was grabbed.Stay away from this place. It looks alright but the more you learn about them the worse it gets.

The facility is filthy. Our son came home covered in grey dust everyday. He would also come home smelling. Their prices aren’t cheap, they are one of the more expensive options in the area. And yet I feel like the facility remained short staffed and had a high turn over. I question how the staff are being treated and if they are being well compensated for there work. There are too many kids to adults in such a small room. There is no designated quite time where the lights are actually dim. No one can get any adequate rest if the bright fluorescent lights are in there face all day. The room is always constant noise and chaos. We paid for full time and there were days that we would go to drop our son off and they would tell us they were at capacity for the day and they could not accept him. They would prorate us but this was still very frustrating to find last minute child care coverage the day of.We will never recommend la petite after our experience.

My son has attended La Petite Academy of Prospect for a little over a year. In that time we have come to love our LPA family. The director is so kind and knows us by name, our son has spent most of his time in Infant 1 and we adore his teachers, he's recently transitioned to Infant 2 and we've come to love the Infant 2 teachers as well. The teachers provide regular updates, pictures, and videos in the SproutAbout app, which you can also log into to see what your child is doing during the day by accessing the cameras in the room your child is in. I always have peace of mind that my son is being cared for while he is at LPA, so much so that we also have asked one of his teachers to baby sit outside of daycare hours when we've needed a sitter. Now that he's getting bigger I love to see the activities that they do with him in Infant 2. Today they had a puppet show, last week they were painting roses for the Derby, and I love when they send home his "art work" for the holidays. I would 100% recommend LPA of Prospect!!

I understand the recent reviews about La Petite because we, too, had an issue with the previous director. We paid for a spot and didn’t receive a response from the director, despite a few emails that I sent. The new Director was hired and quickly reached out to us to finalize an enrollment date. She was kind, organized, and honest. Communication has been great ever since. The new Director has also made several attempts to engage families by hosting open houses and holiday events since our daughter started infant care.We also love all the teachers. They make sure to give each baby a little extra TLC after drop off. We get updates about naps, feedings and dirty diapers each day. We also get pictures every now and then. Recently the teachers started doing sensory development with the infants, which I love. What’s most important is that our daughter is always happy when we pick her up and clean, too.We love the new director and all the teachers and we can’t hold them accountable for a former employee’s mistake. We’re very happy with our choice.

My wife called to schedule a tour, and asked whether there was a waitlist. The corporate office said there was no waitlist, and scheduled us a tour. They called to confirm the day before the tour.We arrived at the scheduled time, and the employee said she didn’t know anything about a tour, and we’d have to reschedule. She also said that they had no availability.I don’t know what the deal is, but clearly there are some management issues. That tells me everything I need to know about whether I’d trust them with my kids.

Called to schedule a tour and was told there were spots available for both of my kids. Arrived for the scheduled tour (during my normal work hours) only to find that there were indeed not any full time spots available. Waste of everyone's time. Also, it's not a very nice place, especially for the tuition they charge.

Been thinking on this awhile to be as truthful, helpful, honest as possible without letting too much emotion get in the way. Here's the factual points of contention in our experience.1) DIRTY – Our child constantly came home with full or poopy diapers, dirty face, messed up hair. They always were cleaning at end of day or just stockpiling kids in one room to clean them not the kids. Probably our biggest issue.2) TURNOVER – For the most part teachers and staff are very nice. In 5 months the director has quit (less than a year of being there too) and 2 teachers.3) TV AS TEACHER – They consistently stick all the kids in front of a tablet for hours on end in the afternoons, no playing/learning/curriculum, just a cartoon. This happens virtually every day and it doesn't matter if we pick up at 4pm or 6pm, it's always happening. I am not paying to have a TV raise our kiddo. First day at new school and kiddo says “I didn’t get to watch today, can I watch at home”. Sad.4) DAYCARE v. BUSINESS – I get they pay rent/mortgage and have expenses. I know there's efficiency and the bottom line to care about, but these are children's lives and futures, not a hardware store or pizza joint. This is essential to a community and the future. They consistently shuffle kids from one class/grade/curriculum to another everyday based on how many kids/teachers are there. When we pick up, we have no idea which room our kid will be in, who the teacher will be, what she'll be doing. They send teachers home early all the time so they can presumably save a few bucks. It's like a cattle call airline like Southwest or Frontier....they get you there alive, but it's a zoo the entire time and you wish you weren't on it.5) SAFETY – Teachers take pics/videos for their Brightwheel app, and just watch as 2 y/o kids climb on playground and stairs and fall down....but they don't stop the video b/c they want to be able to send it out to parents. We've watched kids fall off stairs in these videos and the teacher keeps filming so they can upload it. In response we were told it wouldn’t happen that way anymore. All I really know is that we got less videos. It's an ok place, but I’d rather pay more to have more consistency, structure, peace of mind and follow through. We got out after 5 months and wish it could have been sooner. The director was super polite, gave us her time, and heard our concerns well, we really liked her, but ultimately nothing really changed. And for the most part, all the teachers seem very kind and pleasant. The reason for this lengthy and specific review is because it's about our kids. If we knew this would be the experience, we never would have gone here. Want others to know the real story so they can decide if this is worth it. It is cheap…but you get what you pay for. Our kid is worth more and so is yours. Don’t let free diapers and lunches lure you in if you don’t have to.

Very professional and friendly staff. My daughter was in the 2 year-old's class at the time. She loved all the teachers and they all loved her. They are very focused on teaching skills at age appropriate levels. I was very impressed how my daughter flourished while she attended. My daughter still mentions her previous teacher from La Petite and she is already 4 years old. We only changed schools because we moved. I would recommend this school to anyone.

I absolutely love La Petite Academy. My daughter has adapted so well to the environment. She learns new things everyday. I love the app they use that allows me to see what she’s doing during the day. My daughter was recently out for 2 weeks due to an injury and the academy consistently called to check up on her. They definitley show you how much they care. The teachers are AMAZING!!!! There has not been one time that I’ve walked in the academy and heard a child crying. They build trustworthy bonds with the children and make them feel comfortable in their care. I’d recommend La Petite to anyone!

My son has attended La Petite Academy for two years. He enjoys going everyday and the teachers really care about him. Activities are developmentally appropriate and each child has a learning portfolio that tracks milestones. The classroom is set up so there are centers that allow toddlers free play and multi-sensory experiences. La Petite may not be as flashy as other day care centers in the area, but as a teacher, I feel my child will be prepared socially and academically when it comes time for him to enter kindergarten.
