I know it’s probably because you can’t afford it, because people don’t support more often, but you shouldn’t kill these poor babies. You should keep the place clean and healthy and sterile so more people will come in to adopt. Then you will get the support needed to take care of the facility better, build more space, and keep the animals alive as best as you can! Try harder, for the sake of their lives and your humanity.

I volunteered at a cat spay & neuter clinic. Amy runs the Estill County Animal Control and she is so hard working. She had her children there working with all of us and everyone worked so well together. There was a team of amazing women from Woodstock Animal Foundation near Louisville - the vet and vet techs - volunteers. Our Estill County Judge D Watson came to visit and brought us all lunch (- I was told he does this every time there is a clinic). He spent time speaking to each volunteer, then he personally thanked each volunteer and quietly praised Amy for the good job she is doing. I was glad that Estill County had a representative who was actually involved in the clinic on a personal basis. He spoke about our need for a new building - he was correct by the way because the Estill County Animal Control building is not in great shape, it's very rustic.I really enjoyed the day, wished I could have done more and I know I'm going back there to volunteer again. Do yourself a real kindness and go over to meet Amy, maybe even adopt a shelter pet - new best friend. Sign up to take your cats to a spay & neuter clinic.

Sent home a kitten with us that had bacterial pneumonia, ear mites, and other health conditions. Told us it just had some sniffles and would be fine. All of this has now transfered to our other cat and the vet is saying they can't guarantee she will live. Called and the best answer I got was "too bad". Zero screening of their animals, zero health care for their animals, zero accountability

This place is a sorry excuse for a shelter. The people never answer the phone and the “dog catcher” is NEVER there. It’s a joke. I’d would give it no stars if I could.

You were going to Euthanize ALL THE ANIMALS in your care?? WTH? How is it that this "shelter" is allowed to even exist???? You are not humane and are definitely in the WRONG business. This should not be taxpayer funded, if it is.
