Learned that on Sunday afternoon you definitely want to queue in the line for the cafetería style food rather than sit down and order from the menu. Took more than an hour to be served an omelette.

A classic "meat and three" with a buffet line of awesome meat and veggie selections. Even cooler was the fact that when I quizzed the server over which of the two meats I was interested in was better she responded "you can get half and half!" What a unique hospitality! I had half meatloaf, half fried chicken livers (I know half if you will say "gross" but I LOVE them) with mashed potatoes n gravy and pinto beans. All fantastic. My wife had half fried chicken and half fried Cajun catfish. Portions were more than ample and the food was fantastic. The only complaints.....they could not keep up with demand for cornbread so the only option was Sarah Lee rolls straight from the bag. Also it takes about 10 minutes to make homemade tartar sauce but they handed premade commercial packets instead. The apple hand pies were absolutely incredible. All in all a great old time place that serves great food with great attitude. We loved it. If we were locals we would be here on a very regular basis. We are from out of town just here for a college baseball weekend series.

Lots of options, decent food. You can lay eyes on the food before choosing what to order. I respect that. The staff are pleasant. They even have a burger challenge for a free t-shirt. For those that don't know, you can also visit their website to get something special. I miss the chicken tenders from Opal's, but it is what it is.

There isn't a bad thing to say about this place except it isn't in my hometown in Indiana. Everything was homemade. The desserts are Amish made. Large portions and great value. If you like good food made like your mamaw would make it, this is the place.

Good basic food and the menu changes, good quality and value for the dollar. The restaurant itself is basic and that is part of its charm.

This place has gone downhill over the years. Today solidified my permanent spot at better burger. Jackson’s service used to be down home friendly. The food used to be quality scratch cooking. The restaurant was clean and well run. The last few times have been disastrous to put it nicely. They run out of ingredients, the waitresses don’t pay attention to their tables, the food takes an hour to get, the prices have shot way up, and the quality of the food caps off the disappointment. Truly sad to finally throw in the towel on Jackson’s. Better burger around the corner will actually work for your money.

I've eaten here many times and main complaints has always been that the food isn't warm enough, but a friend and I ate there last week I had pork chop that was absolutely the worst I ever tried to eat. The young woman offered to fix me another or something different, but after having to actually spit out four mouthfuls of food into a napkin, I was done. It'll be a long while before I'm back again at lunch over $10.00

Such a beautiful gem of a restaurant, the food is scrumptiously fresh and flavorful, the place ‘s got modest looks but it makes it all up with the outstanding service. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wishing to savor true home food away from home.
