March 30 I went into the store to ship an extremely time sensitive package overnight. I was told I had only two options. I paid ~120 for the Air Next Day shipment.
The receiver called April 1st, they had not received the package ( it was going to Florida) AND it was still in Ky. Other arrangements had to be made.
I called the store and spoke to someone about the situation, was told there was nothing that could be done except get the package back and go from there.
I was irritated, but I understood the situation and waited on the package to be returned.
I received a voicemail on Apr. 3 that it was at the store. I went in on Apr 4th and was handed the package.
I asked about being refunded and the manager seemed confused. The manager was basically giving the package back and just leaving it at that he said he needed to make a claim.
After going back and forth for a few minutes I was asked if that's what I would like to do!? At this I was really irritated. Yes, that's what I wanted to do. 30 minutes later the manager said he's issued the claim. That was it. No claim number, no next steps, nothing. I had to ask for a claim number.
I went left the building and called the universal 1-800 number (I was told they are not allowed to give out any other number except that specific number).
Once I got through to an agent I was told that the manager had NOT issued a claim but had simply closed the delivery out. Meaning, according to UPS I sent the package, received it back and that was the end of it.
With the agent on the phone I went back into the store and asked to speak to the manager again because there was no claim on file for me and I would not be receiving a refund because I had not requested one. Yes. I was upset.
The representative in the store informed me that the manager had left for the day and she had seen him file the claim with her own eyes. It was a very tense exchange. I was upset that I was being told one thing from the number provided and an entirely different thing from store employees.
You will not receive your payment back to your original form. IF you get a refund at all it will be mailed to your address in the form of a check over a week from when you receive your package back. In my case almost a month from the original ship date.
Reasons for 2 stars and not 1.
The manager that helped me was getting chewed pretty good on the phone when I came in and then immediately had to transition to helping me when I also clearly became upset.
The manager also acknowledged that there should have been the offer of a claim filed instead of me having to ask. If I had walked out with the package there would not be a (potential) claim filed on my behalf.
The manager asked if I wanted to list my email address and I said no. Now all potential updates are being emailed to the store directly and I am completely in the dark about the situation. I was upset and didn't ask appropriate follow ups about having my email address on file.
When the manager had left for the day the representative that handled the situation...maybe did not do it the way others would have, but in a way that I respected. My intentions here are not to get anyone into trouble.
My intentions are to give everyone a heads up that if you pay these high prices for shipping & it says guaranteed it is not guaranteed.
You may be out that high cost.
If you would like a refund, ASK. They will not offer it to you!
You may not be refunded at all. Or you're going to have to accept that refund in a check & long after you've paid.
PUT YOUR EMAIL ON FILE. I was so upset and wanted to leave that I didn't and now I'm just in the dark one way or the other.
Use FedEx or USPS.
This is not the first package I've sent from this UPS location that was not delivered wit

The only place you shouild use for shipping and other available service . Village Plaza in Shelbyville, Ky UPS store. Fantastic

The UPS in Shelbyville usually has minimum wait time and knowledgeable associates.

Bo didn't smile one time or say anything during the transaction and snatched my items as I handed them to him...overall not a good experience...if you aren't going to be friendly you should not be in a customer service job!!!!

I accidentally left my computer at a customer job site. it would've been a five hour round-trip in the car to retrieve it. I called the UPS store and inquired about shipping it back to me and Renèe. The guy on the phone was nice and offered to go pick it up at my customer job site and get it shipped out same day. Remarkable customer service.

I am waiting on work equipment to be delivered. I get a ring notification that someone is on my porch. Within a min, I am downstairs to open the door. I see a note on my door telling me to pick the package up at the store. I checked my ring cam and the delivery person never rang my doorbell. He is writing a note and posted it on my door and left. I don't generally have any issues with UPS. It is just an unnecessary inconvenience now.

We needed a notary for my father. We took him to the UPS store. They were so very kind and helpful. He was using a walker and they brought him a chair to make him more comfortable. Fantastic staff. We had several documents notorized and we were pleasantly shocked at the low price when we went to pay. I highly recommend the UPS store for notarizing anything.
