“We started our day at the gift shop at Hemlock Lodge / Natural Bridge State Resort Park, and I have to give a huge shoutout to the woman working there a little after 2 p.m. on 9/26. I wish I had gotten her name because she was absolutely phenomenal!

We had never been to the Gorge before, and she took us out into the lobby area where all the maps are and walked us through the trails, what to expect, and how to get to them. Her recommendations were spot on! You could tell immediately that she genuinely loved her job and the area.

We also asked about Miguel’s Pizza after seeing how busy it was, and she took the time to tell us some of the history behind it. She was incredibly knowledgeable and so willing to share information. Honestly, I don’t think we would have enjoyed our day at the Gorge nearly as much without that chance encounter with her. She set us up for an amazing day!

We ended up doing the original trail up to the Arch. I’m not going to lie…it was STEEP!! 😂 The multiple rest points on the way up made a huge difference though.

The Arch was GORGEOUS. We spent a lot of time there just taking it all in and taking photos. It was about a 2 hour round trip, with probably 30-40 minutes of that being spent at the Arch.

Definitely one of those days where you go somewhere not really knowing what to expect and end up having an absolutely amazing time. ❤”
