They don’t allow a no star review. My wife and I just left this campground. We were on our motorcycle. We attempted to stop at the entrance but no one was there. We just wanted to ride through the camp ground to check it out for my in laws to camp there with their camper. No one was at the entrance just a blue Toyota Tacoma. We continued into the park and cruised slowly through the park looking at it. We rode back toward the tent section. While coming down the hill on the back side I notice that a golf cart was following us. I assumed it may be a camp maintenance or someone who might be in authorized personnel. I stopped and motioned for them to pass. They had stopped as well and the man shook his head no. I chuckled to myself and waved him again. The man finally complied and went past us turned around and pulled up beside us facing the opposite direction. The first words from his mouth were “You are not welcome here.” “Not hey how’s it going?” “Can I help you?” ,just “You are not welcome here.”I continue to try to explain my intentions but as I’m attempting to explain he escalates by telling me “I’m calling the cops!” . At this point I’m shocked. How is this even happening? What have I done? We just wanted to check the campsites out!? Was this a joke!? I’m waiting for the camera crew to come out of the woods and everyone have a big laugh. I try to explain again. This man pulls out his camera and starts filming us like we have done something? Really?!? I must be dreaming. I turn the bike around and begin driving back to the entrance with “The Warden” following me. As I get almost back to the entrance I stop. The “Golf Cart N**** pulls up and I asked him “Who works in that building as I point to the “guard shack/check point”He points to himself and motions for me to follow him. We follow as he leads us to the guard shack and he points aggressively to the small sign on the window that said “Sorry will be right back”. There are signs all over the windows nobody is going to pull up and wait at that building when no one is there. I let him know that I understand he may have had issues with people causing problems in the past but all we wanted to do is check the campground out for the possibility to book there in the future. He said “I’m just doing my job.” Really? How many other people has he treated like trash? He said no one is allowed in the campground without a booking. All bookings are made online. I let him know that we won’t be coming back and the reason was his attitude and the way he just treated us. He said “If you don’t book it someone else will.” , I reiterated that you don’t treat people like that and we left.I can only imagine that you book a stay here only to meet this guy. Maybe we caught him on a bad day at the wrong time? Maybe he doesn’t like motorcycles? I don’t know but I also won’t be back to find out. I ride a motorcycle and go camping to escape from the trash and scum that society is filled with, only to find it in the place I least expected it. A campground should be filled with people that are happy and a joy to be around. I didn’t want to post a bad review but I didn’t even get a chance to stay. It’s sad but I can’t recommend this place to anyone because the way I was treated just riding through. Imagine if you spent the money only to be treated like that.

Between two roads, so kinda noisy. The primitive camping is all in a strip (rather than loop), which was nice to not be surrounded by other campers - we had a view of the river and forest, even while we heard cars drive by. No toilet (not even a pit toilet) in primitive camping; we had to walk half mile to use the rv park bathroom. No spigot anywhere for water - made dish cleaning a hassle. Hard to locate; the maps are pretty bad. Convenient location though, near Natural Bridge hike and close to Red River Gorge. Honestly kind of expensive for what we got - will not stay here again.

Small campground that is small on amenities as well. The big issue for me was if using sites B27 thru B35, you must back your rig down the street into your site. There was no warning of this on website or at check in. Had to back up away from the site, turn around, then back down the street to our B28 site. Not too bad for our 22 footer but it was a hassle. Lots of jake brake noise from overhead road but didn’t notice too much as AC was on during a hot spell. Men’s bathhouse had bugs & leaky shower fixture. The creek behind our site was not babbling—seemed motionless. I was expecting something nicer—especially since several of our neighbors were having a multi-sight family reunion.

Good location. Sites were okay, lots of sun. Road right above campground. Noise was distracting. Restroom could have been better maintained. Shower was full hot no adjustments.

RV sites are close to one another and it’s pretty open but the tent camping is very pretty, secluded and has a nice portion of the creek to play in.

There are a lot of camping options in this area so I would explore those before coming back to this one. Our site was along the stream which was fun but it was also next to the road which was surprisingly busy all evening. Also, we thought we had water at the site but we didn’t which was a hassle. Lastly, the bathrooms were gross.Playground: No playground

Nice spot along the river. I've been in fancier campgrounds and definitely worse ones. It's not real big which is nice, less noise and traffic. Bathrooms are showing their age.Dog-friendliness: Lots of dogs here.

We love this campground. Gets four stars because the bathrooms aren't taken care of very well.

Nice campground. Some spaces were a little tight but ours was good. B011 backs up to the creek with access to the creek on the other side.Mens shower facilities were ok and sort of clean. I went at 0800 and so I guess they hadnt had a chance to clean.

Campsites are beautiful and big. The sounds of the river are awesome. The signage is terrible; there are no signs pointing to campsites or numbers. Bathrooms are disgusting (only 1 toilet of 5 w/o "something" in it, shower parts on the floor, cobwebs everywhere, bandaids, wrappers, hair, clothes, the ceiling was even dirty), poorly lit campground. .Restrooms: The worst state park bathrooms I've ever seen. I'm easy and have been all over the US... these were absolutely gross.

Great location and the park workers were nice and helpful, but overall we were disappointed with the park. The bathrooms needed maintenance. Not just cleaning, but one of the men's room sinks was clogged, one of the shower heads was broken, and the shower could not turn off.As for the sites, they were among the worst we've stayed at, and we've camped all over the U.S. We stayed in the camper side of the park, since that was the only way to have electricity and the sites were tiny. We rented two sites for our two families, and there was not a single place to put up any of our tents in the grass. The first site was tiny, and the second site had a tree stump right in the middle, with the ground sloping down from the stump. The site next to ours was even worse, with the only flat spot having a huge sinkhole in it, and the rest of the site sloping up to the bathrooms. We would have preferred to stay in the tent section of the park, as that was cleaner with larger sites, but that had its own problems.First, there is only one bathroom for the whole campground, and it is in the trailer section. To get to the bathroom, you have to take a 5 minute walk over a hill to get to the bathroom. With young kids, that just won’t work. Having a pit toilet or port-a-john would have made it tolerable.Second, there is no public water spigot in the tent area. It looks like there used to be one, but it is no longer functioning. That meant that everyone in the tent section kept coming and using our spigots, as we were the only sites that didn't have our campers hooked into the spigot. We didn't mind sharing, but I felt bad for the campers.Overall, the price we paid was not reflected in the quality of the campground, and we will definitely NOT be staying here again.
