I have a 14 year old pup that I care greatly for. For years and years, we had a routine vet in Louisville that we had a great relationship with. However, we moved to Lexington and went through many vets trying to establish the same high level of care. We finally found it. VCA Woodford, and specifically, Dr. Critchlow has an unparalleled level of care, compassion, intelligence and thoroughness when addressing my pet companion's health needs. I will assure you that you will get complete devotion and high level health care that your pet deserves from him and VCA. I couldn't be more thankful for finding this group and I will always utilize this vet practice and Dr. Critchlow for my pet needs. As a working professional in healthcare, I understand how critical a good and trustworthy practitioner is. Dr. Critchlow is exactly that.

We took our very sick 16 year old cat to VCA hospital. The vet stuck her with steroids while telling us she could die any moment now. This prolonged her agony, as she was in pain four days before passing. The vet made blood tests and charged $600 to conclude "she has a liver problem" and give her the steroids. Even offered to put her in observation overnight without any treatment or plan moving forward in mind. A ripoff. But worst of all, inhumane. My cat deserved mercy. They went for the maximum payout they could get.

The staff was attentive and friendly. I also used the grooming service and was very pleased even though they were experiencing staffing issues. The girls still smell fresh after a week.

I love this place. It’s a pretty good drive and I really don’t like to drive. BUT! Its worth it! For me it’s just one of those happy places. Everyone is kind and friendly! Dr. Jolly is so great with all our animals. My dog cries with excitement right before we pull in the parking lot, EVERY time.!He loves it too!

The staff goes out of their way to make your pet feel at home. All departments are very efficient, from the beginning of appointment to the explanation of the diagnosis by the vet, and on to the check out process.

Absolutely horrible, do not recommend unless your pet is literally on death’s doorstep and you have no other option. I took my dog in for a routine nail trimming, and without my knowledge or consent, he was muzzled. he’s never had any problems or shown aggression to anyone. Everyone at the vet loves him and we’re constantly getting compliments about how sweet he is. We’ve had 6 other nail appointments prior, and he’s never needed a muzzle. And when I was informed they used a muzzle AFTER the appointment was done, they told me “The muzzle wasn’t used for fear of aggression. We just used it.” He was also given additional sedation which I was not informed about until after, which is dangerous because he was already given 2 doses the morning of the appointment in preparation, so they could have overdosed him. It’s terrifying to trust these people with your pet’s life when they don’t even communicate what’s happening behind closed doors. You will also be up charged for any medication, without being told. Ask for the paper prescription and have it filled at your normal pharmacy, it’s much cheaper. Overall, the price is not worth the quality of care you actually receive long term.

I have brought 7 dogs here over 26 years and it's sad to write this review. It's just not the veterinary practice that it once was... shame that once you go corporate you bring in subpar vets, employees who don't really love animals and also raise your prices to astronomical levels... pricing people out of caring for pets. I loved going here for years but they need to revisit why they started in the first place. I just left this month and went elsewhere because they quoted me $1000 for one dental cleaning and $600 for 2 shots. On top of that, at least one of the doctors does not like to use proper sedatives when putting dogs down. This happened to a family dog in April and I can't fathom ever going back.

Absolutely phenomenal operation. Staff is friendly, engaging, and above all professional in every way. From being greeted when you enter, to the technicians paying attention to detail and listening , to the Veterinarians being compassionate, attentive and informative … this is by far the best clinic/animal hospital I’ve ever encountered. Opted to have my dog’s tumor removal here , which is 400+ miles away from my home. They are indeed, that good. Oh yeah , and to have it done there, nearly 1000$ less than my animal hospital back home. They exhibit a true desire to give you the best care that is appropriate while not gouging you for the services. This is by far your best choice for staff and care that you can ever hope for.

I had the unfortunate experience of euthanizing my 13 yr old black lab. They treated us so kindly, they did not rush the process and I could see the genuine care in their eyes.Today, I checked the mail and received this card. This meant so very much to me after the loss of my fur baby?

I was referred to Dr Jolly to have a mammory tumor removed from my little dachshund. These are the nicest people and Dr Jolly is great. I'm so glad that Cleveland Animal Clinic sent me to him. ?

My favorite vca location, has a small town independent feel. Staff is very friendly, down to earth, and most importantly care about your pets.
