We've been taking our pets to this clinic for more than 10 years. They are the most reasonably priced, considerate, caring people. I trust them with my fur babies without a doubt.

I can not imagine a more outstanding veterinary staff than Dr. Jim Meiman, Nicole, Shelby, and Karen at Walton Animal Clinic. I have three beloved cats, and until recently, they've only required their yearly check-ups. But this year has been hellacious. My two girls--my gray tabby, Sunny, and my tuxedo cat, Daphne--both, inexplicably lost weight. Their condition, however, isn't too frightening because we can add kitten chow to their regular diet and thereby increase their caloric intake, hopefully putting a little weight back on their bodies over time. But my little boy, my Siamese, Boo, is another matter. He had a gradual weight loss over time, and when Dr. Meiman did some blood work, all signs pointed to kidney failure. We took him to another place recommended by Dr. Meiman for an ultrasound, and it was confirmed that Boo's left kidney is pretty much not functioning at all. Any kidney function is being done solely by his remaining right kidney. My husband and I found out all of this in early June. Dr. Meiman gently told us that the prognosis was not good. I knew from my experience in having cats for years that the words "kidney disease" in connection with "cats" are bad news.We asked what we could do for Boo, as it sounded like he didn't have much time left. He had gone from his healthy 11.3 lbs. to 7.7 lbs. Dr. Meiman said we should put him on Royal Canin Renal Support Cat Foods, which are prescription foods that help the kidneys. He said, too, that we could learn to give Boo fluids and to administer fluids to Boo every other day. At first, I was very intimidated by the idea of putting a needle under my little cat's skin, but then I told myself, "Boo needs you to do this for him," so Dr. Meiman and Nicole showed my husband and me, and from that time on, we have given Boo fluids every other evening. We also added a vitamin B12 shot somewhere along the way. At one point, poor little Boo developed a UTI and had to be administered an awful medication--first as a liquid (which he shook all over the bathroom, himself, and my husband and me) and then in pill form (which Nicole showed me how to administer with a "piller," which looks simple until you have a determined Siamese, wrapped in a towel, in your husband's arms, and the pill in the piller, ready to go into your cat's throat). We had to get cat urine sample collection kits from Chewy several times before we finally got rid of that nasty UTI. I felt like I was crying through the whole summer because I didn't know when Boo would take a turn for the worse and die. I knew that Dr. Meiman told us, in all honesty, that renal failure in cats meant that the prognosis was poor. We found out Boo had renal failure on June 5, and I didn't expect him to live to see his 11th birthday with his sister Sunny on July 12th. I couldn't imagine Sunny without Boo. The thought would put me in tears--still does. But somehow Boo kept going and going like a normal little cat, except for renal support cat foods and fluid administrations. And August came--and went. September was the month for Sunny and Boo to have their yearly check-ups. After a summer under the care of Dr. Meiman and the Walton Animal Clinic staff, Boo has actually GAINED weight, which Dr. Meiman says just doesn't happen in cats with kidney failure. He has gone from a low of 7.7 lbs. up to 9.4 lbs.! He even looks healthy as he trots around the house, especially when he's asking to be fed his special Royal Canin Renal Support Cat Food (chicken flavor is a favorite!) Dr. Meiman--and especially Nicole and Shelby--have answered so many questions for me over the summer and always with patience and care. I never feel like I'm asking a stupid or redundant question. I have 30 hours beyond a Master's degree, but my field is English literature. That doesn't help me very much in taking care of my critically ill cat whom I love so very much. I know I owe all to God and much to Dr. Meiman and h

I love Dr. Mieman and his assistant Nicole. Nicole is always so eager to help me any way she can. I like the fact that I can call and ask questions and don't have to make an appointment. Prices here are very reasonable. Sydney and Karen are also very helpful and nice. I love this place.
