Appalshop is a small venue tucked away in the mountains, serving as a positive force in the region. It features a nice outdoor stage covered by solar panels, with a lot of places to chill, an old bridge with a shallow creek, and a small butterfly garden. The building contains a radio station, a small gallery, offices, and random things. It is a wonderful place doing wonderful things for the community. The venue showcases great music with perfect sound, look, and atmosphere. Visitors should bring their own chairs and can enjoy an assortment of things on sale at the booths outside. While not highly wheelchair accessible due to a tiny main building and gravel lot, it offers a sweet outdoor space and fantastic impromptu tours. The community and Appalshop persevere as a welcoming and kind place.
An institution dedicated to the preservation of Appalachian arts.

Very nice venue. We took the small drive over from va. And it was 100% worth it. We got to watch 49 Winchester and the sound was great. The look the sound and the atmosphere was perfect. Can't wait to go back.
