Ale-8-One Bottling Co. is a soft drink company with a deeply woven history in Kentucky and the city of Winchester. It was first established in 1902 and first sampled at a county fair in 1926. The company and its family secret have stayed protected through four generations. To this day, the secret formula is prepared using handwritten notes and their own specialty blended ginger. This location doubles as a manufacturing plant and a museum proudly displaying their history. The drink, also known as Ale-8-One, is arguably the best soft drink around. It is a ginger ale unlike any others, made, shipped, and sold locally. Many say it is the best drink on the market. The company has started making new flavors like peach, blackberry, and cherry, which are very popular. Fans hope these flavors continue throughout the year. The business has also expanded sales to new stores and restaurants. Visitors can stop at a little merchandise store, though many wish they opened up tours of the factory itself.
Very cool stop. Took the free factory tour which is fairly handicapped accessible (check ahead of time), and you get a free soda of your choice at the end. The tour is only about 15 minutes long and very informative. There's a swag store to get fun stuff at. Worth a visit.

Good soda. Good tour. Though i could not see much of the manufacturing process but i understand why. Gift shop is nice.
