I'm seeing a lot of reviews about Petco not being professional but my location in Alexandria, LA is nothing but professional. The girls are young but they're always so happy and cheery and nice. They help me with anything I need help with whether it's I can't find a certain item or section or if I just have questions about something. They're always so nice and do they're best to help me. It ain't like pet smart where I'm standing upfront waiting for a cashier to show up for 20 minutes and the store manager can't locate they're own employees. And that's why I choose Petco. They always have everything I need and the customer service is always great. As long as they have the food and toys and everything to keep my boy happy, I’ll keep going there

Friendly, helpful staff and one of the better supplies of fish, shrimp and snails. Most Petco's seem to be in the midst of redesigning their space which is nice but does hamper the supply and variety of some things. This Petco was clean and as well organized as possible with reorganizing going on. I've been on several occasions and Saturday evening was by far the busiest time with lots of families and pets shopping. Team members were very nice and offered advice about my purchase and it was awesome not to have to find someone to help me but rather someone offer to help me.

Absolutely love the groomers here! They always do a great job and he loves his spa days. He always comes home and smells great. The groomers are always super friendly too! So thankful for this PetCo!

Was treated very ugly by a women worker just now and asked to leave because I didn’t have a mask, I was about to spend several hundred dollars in the store!! Also many customers and workers were wearing there’s under their chin yet my husband and I were pointed out and asked to leave the store!!!

Absolutely awful! I have shopped here multiple times and even purchased live animals here. I went in today to purchase 100 crickets for the bearded dragon that I also purchased here. Cashier denied my request and stated she could only sell me 30. 30 crickets isn't even one days worth of food for our bearded dragon. I have gone in and purchased 200 crickets at a time and never had a problem. These type of items should be first come first serve, if I wanted to purchase 20 dog beds I can assure you she would not have denied that request. I will never shop Petco again. Please note, they had a trash can filled with crickets so I know they had them to sale

This is the worst pet store I have ever been to. The staff here does not care to wait on you in any way. It is get in and get out. I tried on to different occations to buy fish and got a don't bug me attitude. I will never go back to this store again.

Alexandria is in desperate need of good customer service! I've lived all over the US and have experienced exceptional and poor customer service most everywhere. However, my first visit to Petco was quite alarming. There were two ladies unloading pallets near the dog food, where I was searching for the food we feed our dogs. Neither of them offered any help or spoke to me. I continued to look for the brand of food I needed to buy. They continued to talk between themselves. I eventually found the food I was looking for and went to front register. (I forgot to mention, I WAS greeted by a young lady when I walked in.) The same young lady (her tag said Darian) asked if I found everything I was looking for. I said, finally, but with no help from the ladies in the dog food section! She apologized and said they were the managers! Wait! What? The young lady then asked about what kind of dogs I had, etc. When I mentioned my son had a new python snake and was wanting to buy him something for it, but wasn't sure what would be a good idea, she asked for help in reptiles over the intercom. One of the managers (shoulder length brown hair, I think her name was Aaron?) came to front and scrutinized the cashier in front of myself and another customer. In a very condescending voice, she spatted off "I didn't understand anything you said". The other cashier (colored hair) then said "she said REPTILES!". I ended up leaving, as I did not have the patience to deal with someone in a bad mood because she had to leave what she was doing to help a customer! A week later, I went back in to grab some Greenies. The same manager was there, as well as the cashier that helped me the first day and another young lady with a mask on. Both cashiers were very friendly. As I was walking to the back of the store. I heard the manager tell one of the cashiers "NO! NO! NO!", she was very snarky. The cashier looked at me and I just winked at her. As I was checking out with the girl with mask, I jokingly said "your boss woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning"! She said, "she's always like that"! Wow! I'd hate to know I had to work in an environment like that for minimum wage! I've been in management for over 30 years. I would NEVER talk to one of my employees in such a way.
