A loved one passed unexpectedly and I didn't have experience with funeral homes. They were very kind and accommodated our needs. They made sure to go over options and prices with us in detail so there was no confusion. The packages are simple and straightforward. No hidden fees. The building is very clean and beautifully decorated. I am relieved to know that my father will have a beautiful ceremony at Winnfield.*The memorial room was very elegant and spacious, but I did not take photos out of respect for the body they had prepared for their next service.

Mr Lawson and the rest of his staff, so far, have went above and beyond to help me and my family. They have been patient, kind and above all tolerant and understanding of the up and down mood swings that losing a father brings. They are proffesional, affordable and i would recommend this funeral home to anyone.

The environment at the Winnfield Funeral home in Alexandria, Louisiana was fairly pleasant and clean. The facility appeared to follow COVID-19 guidelines with all entering being required to wear masks and no access to restrooms. As a family we sincerely appreciate the care and attention given to preparing my Auntie Jackie for her home going celebration. There were unfortunately some bumps in the road that caused distress. My Uncle Willie worked closely with the General Manager, Ms. Zelda making the arrangements for my Auntie Jacqueline Rainwater’s service She was laid to rest on Friday, 7/17/2020. My uncle and I spoke with Ms. Zelda about the makeup for my Aunt, requesting a natural look, representative of her appearance in real life. We were assured this could be accomplished. Upon arrival to view the body on Thursday, 7/16/2020 we were shocked to see my Aunt looking two to three shades darker than her natural complexion. I immediately expressed my dislike and was told that it’s normal for bodies to darken during the preparation and embalming process. I insisted the makeup be removed and reapplied to a shade that reflected her natural complexion. Ms. Zelda complied and the makeup application the second time around was pleasing to myself and the rest of the family. The funeral spray was absolutely beautiful and exactly as I requested. We asked for a live stream of the viewing and of the actual service and were assured this task could be accomplished. We explained that many of our family would be unable to attend the service due to COVID-19 and other reasons restricting short notice travel. Ms. Zelda live streamed the viewing and the service, indicating it would be available within two to three hours after getting back into the city. The signal was weak in the area according to Ms. Zelda so the live stream was disrupted early on during the service, prompting family to contact me inquiring about the disruption. Due to technical issues, the 2nd video did not get uploaded until after 9pm and the quality was clearly compromised as it appeared to have been recorded via a cellular phone. The delay was frustrating to the family as they were waiting to view the scheduled 11am. service. We were patient with the process until the length of time for upload got extended more and more. It would have a much better experience for us if we had consistent communication about the delay. Experiencing a loss is difficult in itself and this process made it markedly more unpleasant. Furthermore,, my Uncle was asked to return to the Funeral home to sign paperwork while we were still at the graveside. Upon arrival he was met with an astonishing discussion relative to monies owed. Needless to say he was not happy with thus revelation, however fortunately he took care of the unforeseen debt immediately. Imagine being hit with this bombshell at such an inopportune time when you have been told that everything is paid in full and your loved one is buried. A remedy for these errors and mishaps would be to listen carefully to the customer, ask questions if unsure, double check and triple check any polices that pertain to the payment of services, and reach out to the customer/family when it is known that assurances cannot be met.

Very nice establishment. What I really like is the sanctuary inside to make it feel as if you're in an actual church during the service.
