Pictures are not what you see when you get there. You will be very disappointed if you go off the pictures. You get there and it is ran down and the smell of propane when you go in the back porch when you go in. It is super hot, the air is on in your room only so be prepared to stay in your room only. We went to our room with a couple of hours to spare and could not watch TV or anything due to no connection. No place to get drinks or snacks so bring your own. It was a really bad experience for our first bed and breakfast experience, and we were so excited to get to experience it. We also wanted to take a shower and had to move a chair to get to this other bathroom that had a shower ?. It was really not a good experience to feel like you did not wanna be there. It was definitely quite due to no one was there. Had to use flash light off our phone when we go back due to no light in the house and had to go up 2 flights of stairs. Very scary situation. I due not recommend coming here.

Relaxing, peaceful weekend to just take it easy. Good filling breakfast in a nice atmosphere. You can also request to dine on the front patio, weather permitting. Everything is within a 10 minute drive.

We also held 2 events at Blythewood this year that turned out wonderful. The staff is excellent and the grounds are maintained and clean. Would recommend Blythewood for any event.

We truly love this place! The staff, the people and the feeling of being at home away from home. The house is beautiful and very inviting! We have been to several events at this house and each time was a 5 star wonderful experience. One of my favorite things about this place is the authenticity. When you walk up onto the front porch and through the front door you are truly brought back in time when craftmanship was true and beauty was brought to life in the form of this house. Many places out there are beautiful and look great but they all lack history and wish that they could be authentic.

We hosted our wedding at Blythewood and were so happy we did! The house and grounds are a beautiful backdrop for any event. The food at both the rehearsal dinner and the wedding was outstanding! Trish is so kind and such an amazing cook! We were able to host our whole bridal party, parents, and us (20 people) in the house and guest house for the weekend, which made the weekend run smoothly. It was perfect to be able to separate the groomsmen and groom from the rest of the bridal party in the guest house. We were able to decorate and set up the night before, and didn't have to coordinate everyone arriving to get ready. Ipha is very helpful and flexible and our wedding was exactly how we dreamed it would be. She gave recommendations for table rentals for the grounds and also helped us book a DJ for the evening. Our guests raved about the atmosphere, food, and the beautiful property. Also, in the age of COVID-19, all the staff took precautions and social distancing very seriously, which made us feel at ease. They also provided hand sanitizer and gloves for serving food and drinks.

Blythewood is absolutely amazing! Were having the wedding in a couple of months so I will definitely leave an update but so far so good!!! Its a beautiful venue and very very spacious. It has a very nice vintage feel and all of the rooms have different themes (they are available for renting out for the wedding or also as a BnB).Update: The Wedding turned out to be absolutely perfect. My family put in a lot of work decorating, but with the help of everyone i couldnt have asked for a better outcome. It ended up raining, but i honestly couldnt have cared less. We had such a perfect day! I highly reccomend blythewood to everyone. We had to stay on the owners behind to get a response about the dj but he still did a great time even though we didnt get in touch with him until a few weeks before the big day.

Decided to try and find a place to stay the night after a wedding. We didn't want just a cheap hotel room so we were super pleased to find a cool old school bed and breakfast. Ipha and Ellen were super responsive and helped me and my friends pick a room that would meet our needs. The house so so beautiful and all the furniture and decor matches well. I enjoyed taking an hour or so just to sit out on the second story balcony and relax. In the morning we decided to have our breakfast out on the front porch. The food was so good a true southern breakfast with the fixings. Even if it's just for a night you should stay here, slow down and just enjoy yourself.

This was the best venue I could have dreamed of for my daughters bridal shower. We had a tea theme and the ambiance was perfect.

The Rotary Club of Amite recently visited Blythewood...what a great 'hidden gem...'right here in our own backyard. Our hosts were very knowledgeable about the home's history and we enjoyed vieing the rooms ....even the 'friendly haunted' Mardi Gras room. The bread pudding was delicious and a great surprise treat .We will definitely spread the word about this quaint, local bed and breakfast/ wedding venue !

We had a wonderful stay at Blythewood! We were in town for a funeral. Due to Mardi Gras, it was difficult to find a hotel. I saw that a night at Blythewood was comparable in price to the few hotel options I could find, so we decided to stay there. I'm so glad we did! Ms. Ipha was so kind and accommodating when I called to book directly through Blythewood. It was a charming and beautiful room in a grand historic home. Ms.Ellen cooked us a wonderful breakfast, including some of the best cheese grits I've tasted. The grounds are gorgeous & it was a peaceful setting. I would definitely love to return some day when we can plan ahead and spend more time.

The night before I came to Blythewood was spend at an air BnB with animals crawling in the walls. What bliss to arrive here to Ellen's hospitality and a grand room! One of the other staff members had made a pot roast, and they offered that to me for dinner so I didn't have to go foraging after my long drive. Yum! The coffee pot was ready for me to push start when I got up early, and later I was treated to a delicious full breakfast. My only regret about my stay was that it was too short. This is truly a lovely place with wonderful staff.

Such a beautiful venue and B&B! Ipha’s Crawfish Bisque is to die for! Jambalaya and pork sliders were delicious too! The wedding I attended was perfect in every way! Keep up the great work. Your place is like no other!⚜️?
