I truly hope that the mechanical work they do outshines their lack of professionalism. Rusty does not know how to communicate with his clients and leaves out PERTINENT information until it is too late. I really don’t get what’s so hard about picking up the phone and giving someone who has paid you a call.

IM ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED!!! After hours of searching for days for a way to get in contact with Rusty, I just heard a voicemail from him about the bad weather. This will be day 6 of Rusty having vehicle and I have not received any updates whatsoever on my car. Because it took him a month to get my transmission in I knew he was a piss poor communicator. So when I did drop my car off at his shop an hour after he said my transmission was in I called consistently to check in on my vehicle. I dropped my car off Thursday morning before 10 o'clock when I called on Friday morning, he told me that my transmission may need to be programmed by the dealership which he had never expressed to me before. It is now Tuesday they were closed for the weekend. They were closed for MLK day and as I mentioned in the beginning there was inclement weather today, but I had to search for a phone number to hear that message from Rusty. It was not the number that we had been conversing, and that he frequently contacted me from. I'm a working college student and sadly I didn't see Rusty's negative reviews until I dropped my car off. This man even has a 2022 news article written about him. It's just sad how many people he's gotten over on and I refuse to be next. Don't bring your car here.

Never bring a vehicle here. They will charge you for parts they didn't replace and keep your vehicle for months.

I brought my vehicle so this establishment on September 15 2022 I was quoted a price of $5500 for a new transmission replacement I paid a $1000 deposit and paid the remaining balance of 4500 when I picked up my vehicle approximately two weeks later as I was driving home my vehicle begin to smoke so I called AAMCO and hand my vehicle towed back I was told that the technician did not properly put in oil or fluid in the transmission and that it would take approximately 15 weeks to obtain another transmission up on that transmission being replaced I picked up the vehicle again and 20 miles into the trip my vehicle stalled and began to smoke again. I had my vehicle towed to Nissan and was told after a diagnostic was ran, that a cup in the transmission was not filled. I then opted for the truck to be towed to a different AAMCO location. I have called twice a week for 36 weeks attempting to get a replacement or a refund to which I am constantly met with excuses and delivery dates that come and go. I have attached a letter from my attorney below.

New update: 3 years later and still not a single call about getting my money back for a job that wasn’t correctly done. I don’t forget Rusty…Update: Truck started slipping AGAIN a few days after getting it back from these guys. Went to the ford dealership and bought another truck. It’s a shame that I would rather buy another truck than deal with the incompetence of this shop. The absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced.First off I’m going to say this shop has horrible communications with customers. I had a rental for 3 weeks and never knew the status of my truck, I always had to call in and get a status just to know if I had to extend my rental another few days! Don’t let Rusty’s good sales pitch fool you! Had my transmission rebuilt and had a few issues afterwards which is understandable. Brought the truck in to get them fixed. This took 3 weeks! 2 of the issues are still there but I give up on them, they obviously didn’t care. I’m in the hole for $800 for a rental vehicle all because they put me on the back burner. I don’t recommend this shop at all. Please stay away if you want your vehicle back in a timely matter and fixed correctly. Their “rebuild” is more like a find out what went wrong and fix it and send them I’m on their way. He mentioned something about my truck being tuned and line pressure but it wasn’t tuned, only used the programmer to look at temperatures so no excuse there. Kept getting the run around day after day to where I just showed up at the shop to check the status in person only to find out the truck hasn’t been touched. I guess he got tired of me calling and showing up and finally decided to fix it. I’m looking for some rental reimbursement Rusty...

Normally I don’t go off reviews, but in this case I wish I would have. I had to get my Nissan Altima towed to this Aamco because at the time other shops were full, but I wish I would have waited. My transmission had went out and needed service, my warranty company worked with Mr. Rusty even paid him ahead of time for a job he did not complete. I constantly had to call him everyday and was told the same thing that my car was going to be ready until I took it upon myself and went got my car to realize that an IKey system error was on my dashboard which I was told will eventually go away. Not even a week later check engine was back on. I had to take my car to Royal Nissan which I was told my transmission was program completely wrong. If you’re in desperate need of a shop still don’t bring your car here. UNPROFESSIONAL!!!Service: Transmission

I dropped my vehicle off here on March 6th, 2023 and repairs were not complete until June 5th! I could write a book about all the hassle, but I will keep it as brief as I can. They rarely answer the phone, and never answer after noon. After a while, they stop picking up the phone when they see you on their caller ID. I had someone else call, and they answered. I went there in person multiple times during work hours to find them closed, or one time the office was locked up and the employees were in there hanging out instead of in the shop. They always had an excuse or a lie about why my vehicle wasn't repaired. The corporate office was no help. They called on my behalf, and after getting no answer, said there was nothing they could do. When I called corporate for a follow-up, they put me on hold for 30 minutes, then give me a recording saying they won't be answering my call, then hung up. I spent thousands of dollars on rentals and had many other hardships due to the delays. When confronted, they tell you anything to get you to go away. They will always tell you they will call you back with information on your vehicle, but that is a lie. It was almost June before I got the first returned call, and I think that was because they actually started working on my vehicle. Less than a week after I picked up my vehicle, I noted a rattling noise and the check engine light came on, so I brought it to another mechanic. The code was for a catalytic converter. They found two improperly installed brackets from the transmission repair rattling around and saw both of my catalytic converters were cheap after-market ones with recent welds. Considering the fact that they parked my truck for 3 months on the side of a highway, unprotected, it looks like the originals were stolen and they tried to cover it up by putting cheap knock-offs in their place and doing a horrible welding job in the process. Save yourself a lot of time, grief and money - go somewhere else.

If this place had an option for zero stars that's what it would get. Do not drop your car off here unless you plan on leaving it for months! This place had my car for over 5 months! The owner dodged my calls constantly!!

Worst service I ever had. They kept my truck for a month with no repairs done. Every time I called to check all I got was excuses as to why it was not ready they told me to pick up my truck. They will call me when the parts came and I never got the call. Call to check on the part and got more excuses again. I am never going back there again.Service: Transmission

We were making a long journey from Bay Area, California to Covington, Louisiana when our transmission decided to die an hour away from our destination. We took it to a dealership who wanted to charge us an arm and a leg AND told us they couldn’t get our transmission in stock for two months! We were only supposed to be in Louisiana for a week before heading back to where we came from. Thankfully, my dad is an old mechanic and told us about Aamco. When we called Aamco, they knew exactly how much the dealership was charging us and told us the most they’d charge for it was no matter the location, and then told us to call this location. This location told us two possible outcomes and the worst case scenario, we would only be waiting for a new transmission for a week and a half (versus the two month lead time from the dealership) and the bill out the door was 2 grand less than what the dealership would have charged us. So! Fast forward and they had our car ready to go within the week and it was even cheaper than what they had originally quoted us! AND to top it all off, the customer service was above and beyond! Communication was superb, and we never went guessing. Now, we have made it back safely, and without a problem from the transmission! I am forever grateful for Rusty and the rest of the Aamco team.Service: Transmission

I had brought my car to a different shop and they quickly told me that the issue sounded like it was the transmission, but they didn’t work on transmissions. I was immediately very upset because I had only had my car for two years and I knew transmission work would be expensive. I came across AMMCO from a quick google search. Some other places I called didn’t even answer the phone, but when I called AMMCO Mr. Rusty answered and was so professional, knowledgeable, and patient. He answered every single question I had. His quote for the work I needed done was a very fair price. I never felt like he was pushing me into anything. He laid out every possibility so I could make the best decision for me and my family. I would highly recommend AAMCO to anyone needing transmission work.
