August 2024 by Honest Review
If I could leave 0 stars I would. I will attach photos if I can because I deal with truth and not having friends and tenants leave false reviews for favors. Emergency maintenance is pretty much nonexistent. They live off site and refuse to come for actual Emergencies. I made a Emergency request 12 hours ago and about 12 emails later I finally got help. Not resolved but help. My unit is currently 93°. I wish I could attach photos but I will on Google! On any given day the building are filthy to say the least. They clean around the overrun Dumpster only when corporate is coming but if corporate would randomly show up and actually walk through RANDOM buildings they will be disgusted. Leasing agents don't have any authority to help with any of these issues and they are the only ones in the office full day, so nobody can help unless you want to sign a lease. They dangle bonuses in the agents faces that pushes them to lease by any means, and they give their favorites referral bonuses on leases they didn't refer. They allow certain tenants to get away with no late fees and other things, but refuse help in same circumstances to others. This property is by far NOT luxury! The entire staff has changed several times since moving in, and that was a huge red flag. Even with new staff, if you complain your treated horribly and feels as if you're being retaliated on for complaining. The water is constantly turned off with last minute notice, you don't have a tank that provides enough hot water for your unit size, garbage dumpster is constantly overrun, they don't properly vet tenants just to get units rented so they can collect bonuses, gates are always broken, no security that patrols at all, break ins, vandalism, pools constantly nasty, and a police raid are just a few of the activities that I actually have photo proof of! Please be warned.

I am a law student in Baton Rouge and I have never seen such egregious behavior by a lessor. I have sued Gray Star in the past for black mold in a previous unit that I rented from the same management company but my apartment flooded due to an issue with the washing machine and they let it sit there until I got back from Europe 2 weeks later. My apartment flooded again this week and they disassembled my AC unit that they never put back together and said it was fixed. My entire apartment flooded a few hours later and they never came back and closed out the maintenance requests as resolved. I’ve never met a property owner or lessor who so readily practices reckless negligence with no regard… I look forward to filing suit and holding these people accountable…

I drove into Baton Rouge for a planned day of viewing apartments. I scheduled my tour two weeks beforehand through the website and showed up on time. I was told that they do not do showings at 10a ever on Saturdays because they move people in during those times and was then accused of not submitting the form properly on the website. After showing the agent my confirmation email and asking about better ways to schedule she did not have anything to offer. I’m highly upset and irritated at the lack of professionalism and accommodations for a potential “future resident”. If your website does not accurately reflect your availability- please change it. Not all future residents are local and some of us have made extensive arrangements to tour your property. I’m disappointed as this was one of my top choices for move in. Please do better Blu on the Boulevard.

Super clean & well maintained & manicured grounds. Gated for added security. A luxe experience.

My ac has been in and out since I moved in which was April of last year. The maintenance guys come out and “fix” it and a week later it’s back out and not working properly. I’ve sent email after email to the front office and no one has done anything permanently about this. It’s truly frustrating and absurd at how nothing gets fixed properly around here. Currently, my ac is set at 70 degrees and it is currently at 76. Once again, maintenance comes out and so call fixes it and it still doesn’t cool down. I pay too much money here to have my ac not working. This is truly disgusting behavior and I cannot wait to move out. Such an inconvenience!

Do NOT waste your money here!!! My granddaughter has been renting at this place for 3 years with her roommate. They have had water leak issues from day one. The hot water heater went out and they were left for 2weeks without hot water! The roommate has decided to move out and move back in with her mom so I asked for a 1 bedroom for my granddaughter because it’s alittle cheaper than the two bedroom she was renting for two years now and they explained to her that she would have to send them an official letter with intent to move and they would have her a one bedroom for her to move in to on her move in date and it was a few hundred dollars cheaper and the move date is June 13th!! They called her this morning to say the only thing available is more money than what she and her room mate was splitting for the two bedroom and they said they where sorry but the girl messed up what she told my granddaughter and basically her apartment is rented now so she has to either take the more expensive apartment or she’s out of a place to live.. After 3 years of never being late or missing rent never having trouble there other than their water leaks and the issues with the apartment it’s self and they can’t even try to accommodate her!! Not to mention how in the three years of her living there the trash wasn’t picked up regularly and the sewage drain is right near her patio door so awful smells while sitting outside !! The place is Very poorly managed for what you pay.. parking is awful most days and people speeding through the complex daily..
The staff today Stephen was rude and not helpful at all.. The staff/ management is very much unqualified for their job!!!

I love Blu. The pool and the amenities are great for the price & I have a huge balcony on my apartment which I love.
Stephen & Kadi both answered all of my questions prior to me moving in and continued to be professional and cordial. I recommended this place to my cousin and her fiance as well, because I really do enjoy living here. Due to a job opportunity, I will have to be terminating my lease early and Stephen was willing to look at all of my options with me & took the time to show that he really cared. Alicia is also very sweet and I believe she is a huge asset to the staff. I really enjoy being here and knowing if I ever have an issue, I can talk to Stephen, Kadi or Alicia and my issue will be resolved promptly and they will be easy to work with. 5⭐️

Hope you don’t enjoy parking your car! Because there’s no where to do that here unless you want to fork out an extra $360! ?

Terrible maintenance service, room temp kept on rising through the week, and nobody came to check on the unit. The quality sucks. Wouldn’t recommend.

If you are going to pay for “luxury” this is not the place. Please find somewhere else to go. I personally felt as though I lived near the dumpster how often the door to door trash was never picked up. You can contact the manager and she's going to say they are working on finding a new company. I even contacted the trash company who’s going to claim they always pick up on time which is not true if you have a ring camera you can see for yourself. The property community area is well kept but the staircase for my building was filthy. Water gets turned off with very short notice as if you are living in a dorm. Apartment is cheaply updated not worth the price. Move out experience was awful.

So I've lived here for a little over a year and did choose to renew. I will update this review when I move. The good:---The apartments themselves are very nice. They're large, well designed, and comfortable.---In my experience, the office staff have been really great. Michelle, Steven, Caitlyn, and Katie are consistently the best part of living here.---The Complex is always clean and well-kept.---The pool area and other amenities are really nice.---Overall the community is quiet and safe. The bad:-Since I moved in last summer my thermostat has not worked right, causing the ac to run 12-hr/day over the summer. This has led to numerous electric bills well over $200. A half-dozen work-order were put in regarding the issue over the year, and while they've tired multiple times, it has not been resolved.---I was forced to go almost a month with no internet. The first week was Cox's (required internet provider's) fault. The other was due to Blu. They declined to allow Cox to make the repairs required and rather than find a solution, they sent the technician away; leaving me with no internet for a significant duration.---After the first year, the cost of living at Blu skyrockets. My monthly rent rose from $1,612 to $1,917 for a two-bedroom. They cost of parking was jacked up from $30 to $50, which I assume comes down from the management company (GreyStar), but that is outlandish. Will make a point to avoid GreyStar in the future.---Package delivery is required to use third-party lockers managed by ParcelPending. The front office can't resolve package issues, and ParcelPending is a mess. I've had about $1,400 worth of packages lost due to this system. Granted, the issue is mostly through the carriers and ParcelPending, but since Blu basically requires tenants to go through this system if they want to receive packages, it's worth mentioning.Overall, this is a very nice place to live for a one-year lease. However, if you are looking for something more long-term I would definitely proceed with caution.

I should’ve heeded the warnings I read beforehand, but I was optimistic.tldr: DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER THIS PLACEWent in for a tour, all was well until we realized I was about $100 short of their 3X rent requirement. I was told “just fudge the numbers a little” which seemed a little odd but I went ahead and paid the $200 application fee with my fudged numbers. I then am told my application is being held up because of “insufficient income”. I called and asked what the issue was as they told me to fudge the numbers, and I was told “I’ll fix that for you right now and you should see it approved on Monday.” Fast forward to Wednesday and still nothing. I call and ask what’s going on and this time I’m told re: fudging the numbers “unfortunately that’s just something we can’t do”. After speaking with the manager who told me to do this in the first place, she says “let me see what I can do for you. I’ll crunch some numbers and see how I can help you, I’ll give you a call later today when it’s done.” It’s now currently Friday and I haven’t heard anything. Enjoy whatever cut of the $200 you all made off me.
