I was promised a truck at the Slaughter location. THe morning of pick up I was sent a tect at 6:30 am witha phone call to tell me to pick up truck at a different location. When I got there the original slaughter store had not let them know about the pick up so it was a bit of a scramble to get the truck. THe ben white location was incredible. Very busy but took the time to take care of mel THen I noticed i should be getting a refund for $50 since the truck was not at the promised location. So upon returning the truck after 4 days of planned rental. I asked for the refund. THe lady at the counter called her manager and I was told she would take care of it tomorrow. THen she got rude and talked some crap while she thought I was gone. Guess what I wasnt. I let her know she needed to grow up and act like an adult. I called uhaul corp. and they were great. THey handled the refund in no time. Not sure why the store couldnt do it that easily. Then this morning at 6:20 ish am I get a call from the manager. Who conducts business that early much less after knowing the truck was on a 4 day move. She was also rude and explaimed she told her employee she would call first thing. Great! Use normal business hours. I guess she got an email complaint from uhaul and she thought she would get me back. I dont know. THats just bad business to call that early.

Terrible customer service. As soon as I entered the building the two tellers with tattoos on their arms started giving me attitude because it was 20-15 min before closing. Rented a truck and the teller gave me the keys and said "the truck is up the hill" cam to find out there was no way to get the truck out because other trucks were blocking it. When I tried to get back into the building they had already locked the door at 6:55pm. Knocked for about 10 min in a 100 degree weather until they figured out what keys to give me. Returning the truck went about the same way. Will never return to this location.

I wanted to take the time to leave a review because a gentleman named Amos took the time to help me and my boyfriend. It was 101 degrees and he could see our frustration while picking up crates to help with our move. He came to cheer us up and offer help. Amos wised us luck on the move, helped us load our car and told us not to stress. He also suggested celebrating with a nice dinner to take our mind off of the stress. Ythesyth

I needed a hitch installed and I was able to schedule a next day appointment for 8:30am. They called and emailed me the day I set up my appointment to confirm and asked if I had any questions. When I arrived, as soon as I told them what I was there for I was directed to the right person and he grabbed my keys and immediately got to work. I sat in the office while he worked on my car, I was quoted and hour and a half and he was done in an hour. My back left blinker and brake lights were out so he changed them for me, free of charge. I didn't happen to get his name but he was an older Hispanic gentleman. The young woman who handled my paperwork was amazing, but I will say one of her coworkers could have taken a page from her book. She was rather short and non-helpful to the other customers waiting in the lobby. When asked if they had something available, she couldn't be bothered to actually check and just said "I don't know." The young lady helping me was quick to get me two quotes for trailers I would be needing within the next couple of weeks just so I could better plan. Overall, I had a great experience with the two employees who helped me. I do wish the others had been a bit more helpful and courteous as well.

Usually I take Yelp reviews with a grain of salt. I wish I would have listened to these. We reserved a truck a week in advance. Arrived to pickup the truck, followed the mobile pickup process, and was instructed to go inside to pick up the keys (still had to wait in line so not sure what the point of mobile pickup was). Looking at the truck, my partner realized the hood had been opened and the battery had been stolen. Informed the staff who questioned us, went to look at the truck, and said "I guess we'll see if we have another battery."...ok. After an hour delay we got the truck and took it home. There was a padlock on the truck. Uhaul would not tell us the code over the phone and said "since you guys did not report that, you need to drive the truck back over here to have it removed." After being on hold for 30 minutes we gave up and drove the truck all the way back to the uhaul center. Funny to put the blame on the customer as the truck did not have all of the mechanical components when we picked it up. Also some off the staff were very unprofessional and aggressive amongst themselves. I watched the manager talk very rudely and undermining to one of the clerks. While inside (both times) nearly every customer was disgruntled and frustrated due to logistical issues that should have been handled in advance of reservations.

The absolute worst customer service ever. I was trying to find out how much I owed on my storage unit and because it was in my ex's name I was treated like complete trash. I'm not exaggerating. Rosa was rude as soon as I sat down. She interrupted me several times when I just wanted to know how much I owed and told me I couldn't access the unit because it was in my ex's name. I tried to explain that my ex had already told them to put the unit in my name because he had removed his items from it. She wouldn't let me speak and the manager, Tanisha, came over and started yelling at me and when I reminded her that I am a customer, she put her name tag in my face and told me "sometimes the customer is wrong." I was just trying to find out how much I owed and both of these women yelled at me to leave the store. I called back and talked to a male employee that was actually reasonable and gave me the information I needed. So I call back and again, Tanisha starts berating me and telling me I can settle for half the cost but I must remove my belongings in 24 hours. I just kept asking "how much do I owe" and it was like pulling teeth. She is extremely defensive and told me to take it up with corporate and hung up on me. This lady clearly has issues and shouldn't be in any management position anywhere.

These employees do not know what they're doing. I was told they had no trucks available, "sorry, nothing I can do", then I went online and see SEVERAL trucks available. But I'm not giving them my money when the employees clearly don't want it.

Do not do business here!!!! I was unable to return the truck because of COVID and my mother passing away. The picked up the truck and I called them to make arrangements, but after 2 days they trashed all of my stuff. I am betting they stole the stuff from the truck and lied about it being dumped and telling me that it was already picked up by the trash company. The manager is ignorant and a complete tool. Don't believe any of the replies the mention! This place is sketchy and coldJust as an update - The manager is telling the corp. office that there were no calls to him. Complete lie.... I have every conversation and call recorded. Like I said, this place is sketchy

I can't understand why the average yelp star rating isn't higher!! Our experience with them was amazing.I really have to give a huge shout out to the guys at U-Haul Moving & Storage at Slaughter Lane in Austin!!! They installed a hitch on our Ford Explorer. The appointment was supposed to be a drop-off and pick up later, but they immediately started working on it so we would not have to Uber home and Uber back to pick it up! That was greatly appreciated!But WAIT! That's not all! More accolades are in order!We had a bit of a fiasco with the rental of a moving trailer. I had reserved a 5X8 enclosed trailer via the Internet after having first chatted with a gentleman on the U-Haul site who assured me that this size trailer would work for a one bedroom apartment. NOT SO!! A queen size mattress doesn't even fit unless it is tilted. After my daughter picked up the trailer and got it to the house, they were able to determine that this size trailer WAS NOT going to big enough. In the meantime, the U-Haul where the trailer had been picked up at was closed. We called customer service who transferred us to Victoria. She informed us that the trailer could be dropped off at another location (we chose the Slaughter Lane location because they had done the hitch install for us.) but that we would still be charged the total for the trailer rental from Austin to Colorado Springs because we did not drop it off at the original drop-off location per the contract. I was told that we would need to file a dispute with U-Haul in order for an investigation to be conducted to determine if a refund was warranted! She said she was unable to help us with exchanging the trailers.I ended up having to create an entirely new reservation and had to go to a different location because the Slaughter location did not have the the 6X12 which was the next size up. This size worked perfectly. On our way out of town with the trailer, we wanted to make sure we (2 ladies) had hooked everything up properly, so we pulled into U-Haul Moving & Storage at Slaughter to have them do a quick inspection. A real nice gentleman (whose name I failed to get!) came up to us immediately and checked everything out for us. While he did the inspection, I went inside because I had never received an email receipt supporting that we had returned the trailer that was too small. I explained our fiasco to Redarion Harris and David Harris. They jumped into action and had the whole issue resolved in less than 10 minutes!! They did exactly what should have been done in the first place! They were very understanding, helpful and true professionals! Thanks guys.....you helped make the beginning of our road trip start on a good note!
