I went into the store because my contractor advised it. I was already overwhelmed with not finding the shower wall options in store, much less what i was truly seeking - in stock/ready to buy and take home and PLAIN- without patterns, and frankly frustrated.
I walked into MANY in stock in store, ready to go options. Still mostly patterned with few plain choices, i walked through the options i was considering for my shower walls. Initially wanting to do laminate tile to save time and expense, i didn’t find anything that really came close to my vision.
I wandered to the smaller tile section and was met with Bela.
She didn’t swoop in and start directing me. She listened to what i was looking for (and not looking for: subway tile!) i showed her a pic of my top online choice. She walked through the dept with me listening and picking up piece along the way, and then escorted me to larger tile pieces as i was seeking larger scale tiling. She found me what may be the closest piece to perfect I’ve come across.
Given the size of the tiles, some smaller pieces would be needed to border and frame it for a finished look, but also to tie it into the existing black and white tile.
She was patient, attentive, kind, and gave excellent feedback - but only when i specifically asked. She gave me time and space to process and lay things out to compare them, and truly get a feel for whether or not i liked it. I have never had such a wonderful retail experience! She was present, but not hovering. She showed me the full available inventory of tile even showing me open box and clearance options. She even found me a PERFECT granite piece to install as a ledge, which also ties all my border, wall, and existing tiles together.
Cannot express how much she was able to ease my frustration quickly and pickup what i was looking for. Truly having a gift for listening and processing the vision, Bela made what has been a tumultuous and defeating process for me resolve with possibly a better outcome than I’d set out for. Thank you Bela. I am so grateful for the help, direction, and knowledge you gave me!

Today we came to floor & decor in Baton Rouge and we had a great experience! Malana, Randy, Lacey and Kevin went out of there way to help us find what we needed and were all very knowledgeable and made our visit easy and quick. Thank you guys for everything definitely coming back.

Eight months after my dad passed away, I helped my mom remodel her home, and we trusted Floor & Decor with a major purchase of over $8,000 in flooring and materials. Big mistake. To be fair, the local service was mediocre at best, but the real disaster started with the product and the sales rep’s terrible advice. If I recall correctly, his name was Jared.
Jared assured us that the NuCore luxury vinyl flooring we purchased for over $4,800 didn’t require a moisture barrier because of its cork backing. Turns out, that was completely false. After installation, we quickly noticed the flooring separating in random spots all over the house. Imagine how devastating it was to see my mom move back into her home after such a difficult time, only for this catastrophe to unfold.
When we filed a claim with Floor & Decor, hoping for some resolution, we learned that NuCore is actually their own in-house brand. That’s when I knew we were in for a fight. After months of runaround with their so-called customer service, they predictably denied our claim, blaming it on everything except the actual problem. Their excuses? The expansion gap wasn’t wide enough, and moisture in the concrete slab caused the issues. Both claims are flat-out lies.
As someone with years of DIY flooring experience, I can tell you without hesitation that the real issue is NuCore’s defective locking mechanism. It’s faulty, plain and simple. But instead of owning up to their subpar product, Floor & Decor is happy to let their customers suffer the consequences while they keep raking in profits.
This company clearly has no interest in standing behind their products or taking responsibility for their mistakes. Don’t waste your time or money here unless you want to be stuck with a defective product and zero accountability. As a house flipper, I have no intentions of ever shopping there again and would advise anyone to take their hard-earned money elsewhere.

Large showroom makes shopping and selection easy and painless. Their user friendly app makes tracking prior purchases and receipts easy. Online and pickup ordering system is convenient. The staff is always helpful and friendly. Most notably Malanna at check out. She is always helpful and patient when checking out or the occasional return.
