I got my haircut on a whim here today and Emily did a fantastic job! She was very kind and took her time, while working my hair. She was very attentive and made sure I was happy with the cut and style. Excellent job, Emily!

I visited the JCPENNEY hair salon on a Friday morning at 10:00 am. I was promptly greeted and serviced with no wait. This was amazing because I've waited at other Salons 2 and 3 hours before being serviced. I received a relaxer and roller set. The stylist Yolanda P was amazing! I'm experiencing some hair breakage and she took her time explaining potential causes and developed a treatment plan. I've always thought that salons like this only employ fresh out of hair school graduates but boy was I wrong! Yolanda is truly a master of this business. My hair came out silky smooth, shiny, and bouncy. The salon atmosphere was clean and relaxing. The shampoo bowl, hooded dryer, and styling chair were all very comfortable. I had to use the restroom, although I normally shy away from public restrooms, but this one was a nice size and very clean. I had a great experience and will return and recommend this salon to my family and friends.

This was a first for me. The woman who did my hair was in a mega hurry. When she washed, and conditioned my hair, the handling of my scalp was rough; like, doesn't somebody train you? She noticed me wincing once or twice, and asked me if I am tender-headed. I said yes. Like why ask me, because then came the blow dry part, where she kept pulling on my hair, as she blow dried it. I had to hold on to my hair more than once to keep it from hurting. To be fair, she did take some notice after that. The worst part: When she blow dried my hair; she started from the back, and then did not dry the hair in the front. She just left it to the mercy of the heat that she had already applied to the back. PERFECT way to make your hair frizzy in the front instead of getting soft layers that frame your face. (You do realize that the heat in the back doesn't conduct to the front, right?) I had to ask her to dry it. But the damage had already been done. I am a zero at fashion, but even I got this right. For this disaster, I had to pay $37. Rip off. If I come back home, and have to fix your mistake, and I do a better job at it, and wonder why I came to you for a “professional†job in the first place, we have a problem. Lady who did my hair, today: In case you wondered why I didn't tip you, this was why. Never going back here. Ever.
