Absolutely BEST staff BEST Doctors....They fully explain everything from Diagnosis, treatment, cost, and care. As a nurse by profession, I expect and demand the same care I give to my pts to be given to pets who are oyr 4 legged family members.

Our fur baby was hospitalized here for the past 4 days. She still isn't out of the woods yet, but they no doubt saved her life. Dr. Crawford and Dr. Erika kept us updated day and night and truly were invested in our baby's health. Was it expensive? Yes...but they gave us an estimated cost before we agreed to anything and it stayed well within that estimation..so we knew what we were getting into. We cannot thank them enough for everything they have done.

I only put one star because it was needed for the review. I took my poor dog whom I loved (you read it right) dearly here because he has become lethargic and wasn't eating. He was so weak he could barely stand. After waiting forever we were finally given a room. Dr.Fontenot finally comes in, barely touches him, listens to his heart and then advises us of a list of things we could pay for one by one to see what his issue was. After the expensive X-ray we were told we should do blood work for additional money. After refusing because obviously it was all about money to her he was given a shot and sent home with a tiny bottle of medicine that didn't cover the days prescribed. The next day my dog passed. There's absolutely no way she didn't hear his slow heart beat and know he was in distress. These animals are our children and should be given the same respect. The hurt from her only wanting money when my dog was dying will never go away. At that moment she should have shown some compassion and advised he be euthanized because he was passing. I will NEVER EVER take a pet here or advise any other person to because simply put it's all about the money.

I called to inquire if they did lion cuts for cats. They said yes. I inquired of the cost (of the lion cut obviously) and they quoted me $40. I took in my 2 rag dolls. At checkout the bill was $200. They refused to make an adjustment although the person checking me out said let her “go and check... “ Of course there was NO adjustment. And the sad part is that the cuts are the shabbiest they have ever had in their 6 years! Be prepared the pay top dollar for inexperienced service. They showed me great pics of several lion styles. I was hurt and disappointed.

My vet was Dr. Albarado, he was great. Knew how to treat my cat and was very kind and knowledgeable. However, I am a little confused by the vet techs and front desk folks. When checking out my cat from the hospital, I was given two meds when her discharge sheet listed three. The girl looked confused when I told her about it and she then went get the other medication. I could see that I was running out of one of the meds far before when I was due to, according to the discharge instructions. I call and explain that the sheet instructs to administer 1 mL twice per day for 10 days (total of 20 mL), but was given a 15 mL bottle. The girl on the phone explained that I should come in for a refill. This location is a 45 minute round trip from my house. Why wasn't I given the correct amount of medication when checking out, especially because the vet said that a recheck of my cat was not needed, meaning I wouldn't be coming back in? Then, my boyfriend arrives to pick up the medicine that we were supposed to initially have, and they charge $60 for it. Didn't we already pay for her meds? Didn't you all know what the discharge instructions were? Both ladies on the phone seemed unsure of what was going on or what the procedure was, which made it worse. Overall frustrating experience dealing with the staff.

DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE. (There should of been an Alert when all the bad reviews are hidden !!!!!!!!) Went in because my dog got bitten by a snake vet nearly touched him for $109!!!!!! Didn't even touch and asses him for 5 mins the $109 was only for him to "put his hands on my dog" which I could clearly tell he wasn't alright. Next doctor walks out his assistant walks In with OUTRAGEOUS numbers recommended me do all the work up which came out to be 4,000 !!!!! Decided to get my dog treated because all I could afford was $300 to stabilize him which included only $200 worth of medicine after I asked multiple times what can they do that I could afford at the time, $200 worth of medicine he was sent home with and they dont offer any kind of payment plans it's either pay the money or get out kind of place. I was outraged with this place never going back again AND I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT. It's like your pet is another number in their books. Thankfully my dog was stabilized through the night and he got to see his vet first thing in the morning. My baby is doing okay but it is inhumane how it's a empty your pockets out or we can't help your dying dog situation.

I brought my Lab to Sherwood South for an emergency visit. She was lethargic and had not eaten for a few days. The vet took her temperature and because it was high he told me that she would probably have to be hospitalized. He took her in the back and examined her told me that she had an infection but he was not sure what kind and she would definitely need to stay overnight in the hospital. I asked for an estimate of the costs before I agreed to her being hospitalized. The estimate they gave me was between $700 and $800. I told them that I was not expecting the cost to be so high and that I would try to get her to another vet. I asked that they do what they could to treat her that night. I explained to them that we do not have a regular vet for her. l asked for medication to sedate her because she is very skittish and it is very hard to get her to the vet (she's a country dog that stays outside so she's impossible to catch). They said they didn't normally prescribe meds for sedation. When they checked me out they gave me two medications, one at no charge. The instructions were to give her one for 5 days and the other for 7 days. I initially thought that I might not need to follow up with another vet because of the length of time the medicine was to be administered. After giving my dog the medications for two days I noticed that she was listless again and not wanting to eat. I noted that the date on the antibiotic they prescribed indicated that it was expired. I called the vet to ask that even though the medication is expired would it still be effective in treating my dog. The person I spoke with told me, without answering my question, that I was supposed to follow up with my vet the next day. I tried to explain to her that I did not understand why they would give me enough medication for a week if I was supposed to follow-up with the vet the next day. Again she repeated that I was supposed to follow-up with my vet the next day. I explained to her that with the 7 days of medication they gave me I thought I was supposed to give them to my dog and if they were not effective in treating her then I would try and get her to another vet. I told her that I couldn't understand why they would give me an expired medication. She told me be that the vet was trying to help me out because I was having money problems. I found this comment to be very unprofessional and offensive. I was not asking for financial assistance I would rather have paid for an effective medication. $380 got just enough treatment to make her comfortable for two days.

Extremely long wait after we got to the back with my dog, over an hr. The Vet then came in, & didn't even apologise for that extremely long wait, his demeanor was crappy. Not to mention the fat bill I had for the shitty service he provided me. Don't go here find somewhere else... You're not a priority.

The staff here is wonderful, but I just can't get over the prices. We moved across town, and I figured I had a new vet closer to my house for visits that weren't just regular vaccinations. However, we've gone there several times, and everything (visit, tests, treatment, preventative medications, etc) is SO much higher than anywhere else I've been. For our last visit, I brought my Sheltie in for a UTI. I explained her symptoms, they found my info in the system, and gave me some forms to fill out. I asked what the forms were for, since we were there during regular clinic hours and both the dogs had been there before. She explained that because we aren't regular clients (basically because the pups don't get their annuals done there), it would be considered an emergency visit with something like a $108 charge in addition to the exam, tests, and treatment charges that would follow. $108? Pass. We left and went to our regular vet, who did the exam, urinalysis, ultrasound, and gave us treatment meds all for the same price Sherwood South was charging just to get in the door. I'll continue to just drive the extra 15 minutes to my old vet. Now that the "regular client" policy was made clear, Sherwood South will just be reserved for true emergencies for the pups. The facility is beautiful, and I can't stress how wonderful their employees are. I can't help but feel a bit price-gauged, though.

I use to love this place. The people here are very friendly and they did a surgery on my dog. I basically treat my dog like a person/ child because I love her so much. So obviously I want someone to take everything seriously when it comes to her. The vet always went above and beyond * depending on who it was. The problem with this place is that it is extremely overpriced. Also my dog has this allergy where she happens to get staph on her stomach. Idk it's weird. Anyways they kept giving me short term help for it instead of long term. So about after the 6th visit that's costing me 300$+ or more for a non permanent solution- you could say I'm getting pretty pissed. I'm not paying top dollar for you to give me something that's only going to work for a week. On top of that I want her to get better and not suffer and it makes me worry when it kept coming back. Took my business elsewhere to a vet off of airline highway. Way cheaper and gave me a permanent fix.
