“Got a tempur pedic from mattress firm that broke within 4 years. Went to Sleep City on Perkins today and had the pleasure of getting helped by Laurin and Keisha. They both listened to me and my husband's concerns about our old bed and what we were looking for in a new mattress. They were both extremely knowledgeable about their products and even other products not in store. They helped us find the perfect mattress that fit both of us and made the whole process quick and easy. Would highly recommend them both for anyone looking for a new mattress!!”

“Laurin was a huge help! She was very patient and answered all of our questions. I think we laid on every mattress in the store. The store had great options to test and Laurin knew about each one of them. They are running a 4th of July sale right now too! Great store, great associate, great experience! Looking forward to a great nights sleep on our new mattress.”

“I realized I needed a lower profile box spring for my daughter’s bed when moving her into an apartment and using a different bed frame for the first time. Dwight was very helpful in getting an order placed and getting the delivery set up as soon as he could. The computer system wouldn’t allow me to complete the order online and he continued to work on the problem until it was resolved. I really appreciated his focus on customer service and would recommend the store on Perkins Road in Baton Rouge based on my experience today. Thanks Dwight!”

“Mr. Billy and his grandson and staff are incredible. Mr. Billy is a god send with his knowledge, workmanship, and professionalism. We purchased two king size mattresses, his top of the line mattress too, and what a significant difference than our original sealy mattress. We were very hesitant when we arrived to his shop, but once we walked into the building and met Mr. Billy, everything was amazing. I highly recommend Mr. Billy for anything regarding mattresses, frames, etc.”

“This is truly one of the best places I’ve discovered in a long time, and I genuinely think it’s a hidden gem that’s right in front of us. I’m thrilled to have found a fantastic spot for buying furniture, and I’ve made a wonderful connection with Jose, as well as an exceptional sales representative, Ty. Jose treated me like family and offered an incredible deal on furniture for my new apartment—I couldn't be more excited! Ty was immensely helpful, sharing his expertise on current trends while also showcasing classic and modern styles. I firmly believe this place is blessed, and I hope it continues to thrive and flourish.”

“In 2017 I was on the hunt for a new mattress. I wanted something that would really support my whole back, and by support I mean physical contact. The difficulty was that no matter what mattress I tried - name brand store mattresses, squishy online mattresses, etc - the lumbar curve of my spine was never in contact with the mattress. And just folding up an extra blanket didn't work because inevitably I'd toss and turn enough to dislodge it. I decided a custom mattress was in order. Where could I get such a thing though, especially on my limited budget? After some online hunting, I stumbled across Istrouma Mattress Factory. Istrouma is a small, locally-owned mattress maker in Baton Rouge, and on the phone they confirmed that they could make custom mattresses. They seem to primarily do innerspring mattresses, I think they had some foam or latex too, and also do things like custom furniture cushions. The neighborhood seems a bit rundown, and if you were just driving by their store it might not look the most appealing, but don't let looks deceive you. Anyway, I went to the store and and explained my lumbar support idea. I picked out an innerspring mattress and they quickly dragged out some foam and had me lie down so they could take measurements. A couple weeks later my intentionally-lumpy mattress was ready. Yes, it's a strange-looking mattress, and it definitely wouldn't suit most people, but it's exactly what I ordered and does exactly what I wanted. And on top of that it was actually a budget-friendly price, despite being a custom order. Mind you, I did pick it up rather than have it delivered, but still, very affordable. I'm happy to have found this gem of a business and will be a repeat customer!”

He even opened up on a Saturday specifically for my fitting appointment — that kind of personal, dedicated service is incredibly rare these days.
