Rachel was so sweet and helpful! I had never been in before, so she gave me a recommendation for the monthly special. The burrito bowl was great, I subbed Jalapeños for kale and totally enjoyed that decision, especially because we were eating in the heat of outside! Highly recommend stopping by here if you're looking for some healthy or non healthy vegan options! Great service and a good ambiance.

Beautiful place, beautiful service, beautiful food both in taste and presentation!!I love that you’re given a big blue bottle of water!The pomegranate lemonade was amazing!I didn’t get the names of the employees but every single one I met was helpful & very caring!! Will definitely be recommending!

I had the birdie salad ? it was outside of my comfort zone but I absolutely loved it ! Wouldn’t change a thing about it ! The ranch was the best vegan ranch I have had ! I ordered inside & took to go , was in & out ! Will definitely return

MJ’s has always been consistently wonderful until now. I have kept coming back and ordering the same things from the Jefferson location, the whitestar location, and now this location.This time, however, was extremely disappointing. There seems to be a huge operations issue that is throwing a wrench into everything. The French sandwich came on white bread and had very little goat cheese and barley any apple slices, the grits were watery and undercooked, the veggies atop the grits were still crunchy. Everything we ordered were things that we had ordered before and loved.The server who greeted us was really rude for seemingly no reason. I have been in the food service industry for years and I actually can’t think of anything we did to make her upset. She spoke to us in a condescending manner and gave us dirty looks. It took forever to get our drinks. When we finally got them, we mysteriously had a new server. I watched our original server continue to take other tables in the dining room and she was actually nice to everyone else. I have a feeling that we were “profiled”.The new server was actually very nice, prompt, and attentive.I have brought friends to this restaurant, and I have constantly recommended MJs to friends and strangers alike. I will no longer be doing either of those things until I can come back and see that things are better.

I really wanted to love it, as there’s not a lot of vegetarian/vegan places in town, but the sweet potato/squash soup was mushy (like the veggies were cooked for way too long) and the biscuits and gravy didn’t have enough gravy to cover half of the biscuits. When we asked to purchase extra gravy - they said they were out and that’s why we didn’t get enough in the first place. We were still charged full price. Unfortunately I would not go here again.

I wanted to wait until I dined in before writing a review but the pinto beans I just picked up was so good I have to say something. This is must try and go to vegan/vegetarian place. My only regret is not coming sooner when I was originally informed. See you guys soon. Will update review with better pictures when I dine in.

Very cute cafe in Mid City! All vegan and dairy free options. Food is warm, fresh, and delicious. Servers are kind and accomodating to families. Food is affordable & portions are OK.Kid-friendliness: They offer high chairs.

Food was great! I had the weekly special which was crispy tofu and broccoli over rice. I tried the gumbo which was very good. I also had a chocolate chip cookie. I am not vegan, but everything I ate was excellent. Service was patient and attentive. Prices are fair.

How I went as long as I did without knowing about MJ's is beyond me. This spot is fantastic for a delicious hearty lunch or even breakfast on the weekends with some fantastic vegan options. I had an oat milk mocha, which was sweet and delicious! Opted for the black bean quesadilla for lunch, and this thing is the jam. Hearty, filling, and delicious. Who knew that melty vegan cheese could be so fantastic? Will definitely be coming back to try other options.

This is a little vegan treasure. The people who work here are very kind and cool.Vegetarian options: My salad was delicious.There are so many options of cool dishes.Parking: There is a lot of space to park just behind MJs.

I travel through this area about once a year and always make a point to stop here for lunch. One of my favorite spots and the staff is always super nice. Highly recommended if you are looking for a healthy and simple spot in Baton Rogue.

Best VEGAN food & options in Baton Rouge La!!! Omg I have never been so impressed with such variety in my entire vegan eating experience! The server was PHENOMENAL and truly alert to all of our questions & concerns. She was attentive, studious and most of all patient! It is a cozy little restaurant from front to back and side to side. Please and I mean please patronize MJ's cafe if you live near or are visiting the area. It'll be your NEW FAVORITE place
