“The butcher counter here is epic and well-stocked, with knowledgeable staff and friendly service. If you don’t see what you want they got it in the back. Really good coffee, convenient hours, gumbo in the afternoon. I go once a week to get great cuts of real soul food ingredients - today I got incredibly flavorful beef “bones” for my roasted bone broth. And they offer package specials like 100lbs of various types of meat for $169 and a “Monday Night Game Grilling Special”. Avoid exorbitant high prices for supermarket-grade cuts at “boutique butchers” by visiting Ancona’s 100%!”
“We were going to Albertsons on government Street. But soy milk is $1.50 cheaper for a half gallon. Everything we bought was at least 25% less and it's definitely worth going to. It wasn't crowded it was easy to park.”
“Supermarket Store: I finally remembered to go to Hi Nabor to purchase some Hoh Head Cheese like Iate at my friend's house at a party. This meat is soo good! I ate the whole pack in 5 days with crackers and mustard. I want some more now.

“This Rouses Market is very large with nice wide aisles. The store is clean, well stocked and neatly organized. Things are arranged by departments making it easy to find items. The hot prepared food section is well stocked and provides seating. A nice shopping experience.”
“Matherne’s market has the best value for money food. You can get southern style soul food/cajun food. For 11 bucks, you get a protein, two sides, a piece of bread (their corn bread is amazing) and a dessert( I just substitute it for another piece of cornbread). They have great variety in both protein and sides, but you have to be there before 12:30 for the soul food. You can also get fried food, gumbo and salad by weight and freshly made sushi is also available.The reason I am giving them 4 stars is the prices of groceries are higher, but for food it is 10/10.”
“The best Mexican-style chorizo in all of Louisiana, if you don't believe me, you're losing haha. Otherwise well stocked, you can send money and it's not as expensive as other Latin stores.Update: the butcher who made the chorizo no longer works there so I don't know the quality now.”
