Steer clear of U-Haul! I made an online reservation for Tender Care Transport located on Common in Baton Rouge. I used my credit card to pay. I received an email confirmation. This was to retrieve the 26’ truck at 7 am using my mobile device. The morning of pickup the location was closed and phone calls were sent to voicemail. I called U-Haul directly, spoke to Maria who said I should have received a call from U-Haul to schedule the truck and she apologized and said I should receive something for their error. I received no phone call. 33 minutes later I was transferred to “traffic” to find me a truck. That call was disconnected. I called back and spoke to Nick. He set me up with another truck in another location further away. No locations have a phone for direct communications. Everything is funneled through a central calling station and waits are ridiculous. If I ran my business like this I would have no business.

i would not ever reserve at this location again. reserved a truck there, got there only to discover after i arrived there was no truck and the closest availability was hammond, la approx 40 miles away, never again!!!!

They do not honor reservations. They wait till the time you reserved your truck to let you know the truck is unavailable.

I did an online reservation and opted for the 24/7 Mobil pickup. When I arrived at the location I used the app and followed the steps up to the point where I needed to go inside and get my keys. The woman inside informed me that the truck I was supposed to be picking up wasn’t available and was going out of state, even tho it’s sitting in front of me with all the info matching to my reservation. She said another truck was being returned around three and I should get that one. I called costumer service ( complete waste of time ) I was hung up on the first time after stating the situation (tho the guy did seem to want to help) the second time the woman on the phone just connected me back to the location I was picking up from? Like if they could solve the situation I wouldn’t have called CS. The third time was just hung up on. Hopefully I don’t get charged for a truck I was never allowed to pick up, but we will see I guess.The manager at the location was as helpyas possible. There’s only so much they can do. It’s more an online reservation issue that needs to be worked on.

Tried to reserve a truck online, got to the store and was told the reservation I made was for a tryck that was unavailable. The people working the store couldn't offer any assistance and only told me to call the Uhaul hotline...which had an hour long wait.Don't rent from here if you can help it.

worst experience ever. they changed our reserved time and location without warning the night before our move and kept us on hold until they closed and anytime someone answered we were transferred to a different department ended up having to cancel and will never use again worst company and worst customer service if I could give a lower score I would U-HAUL sucks at their job.

Update: I spoke with Darrick the GM, and he was very kind and helpful. Since our truck was not ready we received a $50 guarantee as comepsation which we were very pleased with. Thank you Derek for the great service and rectifying the situation. Short review: Worker (Glenda I believe) did not even apologize that they moved our pick-up to location to a DIFFERENT CITY 26 minutes the opposite way of our destination. We were not even notified until after we arrived and after our reservation time. She told us it was "just down the road". The worker kept blaming us saying we should have answered our phone. Keep in mind we were waiting in line at Uhaul so I did not think they would call me after my reservation time while I was in line. They could have notified us that the pickup location changed when they opened at 7am, before we arrived at 8am. I tried to call the new location to confirm since we were already behind schedule, but the number she gave us did not exist. We told her this and instead of helping us she gave us the customer service number and helped the customer behind us while we were still at the counter trying to get help from her. Apparently at this location they DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU. It took us 2 hours to get a truck bc the new location was not even open so we had to wait on hold and were transferred 3 times just to get help with the check in process. This experience was so stressful and time consuming I will never be using any Uhaul services again unless they justly compensate me. Long review: This was the WORST service I have ever received. Nothing was done correctly. I had my location changed on me twice. My original location was 1 mile away. They changed my reservation to a pickup location 10 miles away. I called and got it switched to a closer ocation. I called the location ahead of time to confirm the new pick-up location for my reservation. Our reservation was for 8am and I received a call at 8:05 regarding my reservation being changed on me AGAIN. We were already at the store and were notified the truck was not dropped off the night before. Glenda told us the new location was "just down the road". It was in a DIFFERENT CITY that was 20 miles/ 26 minutes away. I tried calling the new location's number to confirm but the number did not exist. When I told Glenda this she did not try to help us, she just said "I don't know that's the right number." Then she gives us the customer service number and starts helping the customer behind us while we're still at the counter. She only talked to us for about 7 minutes before pushing us out. We arrived at the next location at 8:45 but the store did not even open until 10am. We had to wait on hold to even speak to someone who could help us pickup the truck using self check-in. It took AN HOUR after being put on hold multiple times and transferred to 3 different people. The people on the phone were very nice, but Glenda ruined our entire experience. She did not say sorry once. Your employees clearly do not care about your customers. You gave us free mileage but we still had to drive 40 extra miles and pay for that gas. This is ridiculous to say the least. For me to trust your service again I need to be reimbursed for the extra gas we incurred for driving an extra hour in our personal vehicle as well as the extra 40 miles we had to drive with the moving truck. It took us 2 hours to get our moving truck. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE.

Deserves no stars at all. Rude employees who treat customers horribly once they stop ignoring your existence. I paid over $400 to have a hitch and the electrical wiring harness put on which the technician totally forgot about and then had to put my vehicle back in the bay again. Do not recommend at all; I should have spent more and had it done at a dealership.

Do not go here. I called and asked if they had furniture dollies when we needed some for our upcoming move. I was told they had some in stock. I drove up to the location (it is not easy to get to from South BR). I was happy to see they had 6 dollies and lots of packing supplies available. I took 3 dollies, some plastic wrap and boxes to the checkout. When I got there I was told I cold only by the boxes, as the plastic wrap and dollies were not entered into inventory. WTF! The items were on the floor and I had called to make sure they had them. The cashier spent 20 minutes of trying to contact the owner in hopes on having the items added to inventory so I could buy them. He then told me that I should come back in a day or two. What? I drove up there once after being told the items were in stock. Not doing that again.

My fiance and I had a terrible experience with UHaul at Airline. He made a reservation on Friday for Saturday at 11:30 am. When we arrived to retrieve the vehicle, we were told there wasnt a truck there for us. We were given a reservation # to call. We rescheduled the pick up for 6:00 PM on Saturday. Around 5:30 pm, before returning to the store, my fiance called the location again to confirm his reservation and that the truck was available for pick up. The person he spoke with said the person who rented the truck did not yet return the truck and suggested that my fiance reschedule the pick up for Sunday morning at 9 am. Once again, before going to the store, we called and were told, yet again, that the truck had not been returned. The person he spoke with said he'd call my fiance when the truck was returned, which he assured us would be in a few minutes since the person who rented the truck said they were on their way back. After church, around 1 PM, we happened to be near the UHaul store and decided to stop in to see if there were ANY trucks we could have. We were told the truck we initially reserved had yet to be returned and the other trucks that were in the lot were already reserved. This has been a major inconvenience to us. We have had to delay our moving for 2 days because of UHaul at Airline. Why have a reservation system if it is not followed?! I cannot understand how someone who rents a truck can casually delay their return without consequence. Never again.

Gosh, I am bummed to see the reviews so low here. I had fantastic experience here form start to finish. The only odd thing I experienced was that I booked for one location, but it got changed to another location. Thankfully, it wasn't too far and I was still able to get to it in a timely manner and still end up at the next location I needed to be at. Upon arrival, I walked up to the counter and I was taken care of fairly quick. Signed, sealed, delivered and I was on my way with the 10' U-Haul truck I needed for 24 hours. It was too easy. Truck was clean and spacious enough for us to move all of our stuff. Make sure you are aware of when you place your order that it starts at $19.95 and it can go up from there pretty quick because they charge mileage. Even though you are quoted a price, when you pick-up that price could change, when you drop off the truck just depending on how much you drove with it. Though I do not prefer this pick-up location, it was easier than the other location I picked up before because this is an official U-Haul store. Need boxes, packing tape and other moving accessories, they have them here. I ended up renting a handtruck with my order, which was extremely helpful in the moving process. The customer service was quite professional and I was so glad that I ended up using this location. I highly recommend this location.
