“A tad expensive for a self guided tour but its for a good cause. There were a few items in the gift shop that looked like they may be using AI generated content, which feels wrong for a place honoring the history and origins of an area.
No stars were lost for this, but there were a lot of spiders and wasps, especially in the doctors house. It's an open-air museum in Louisiana in the summer, so that's not a surprise, but you should be aware of it before you go.
Don't think i would go again, but if someone told me they wanted to stretch their legs and see some neat things, I might recommend it.”
“We stopped in here on our way headed west. This was a gem of a store! The lady working there was very friendly and helpful. She has it organized in a way that really makes sense. The painting supplies are in a nook, fiber crafts in their own space, and paper crafts together. I almost didn’t give 5 stars because I didn’t realize the paint brush prices were almost retail and this is a used / donation store. But to be honest, everything else seemed fairly priced. And I can’t say enough about the friendliness of the folks in there. So- 5 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️”

“My favorite place to get inventory. However recently they seem to have the same clothes out for a week. When Marie was there she put them out every day. And there seems to be no shoes anymore. I miss Marie. She was the sweetest. Im not sure where she is - no one seems to know.”

“The docs didn't think my dad would make the trip from oshner but my dad was always the one to prove people wrong. The hospital didn't bathe him properly but Calcutta made him look like his old self. They gave him his dignity back to where he felt comfortable enough to leave us. They stepped out the room for my mom and I to spend his last breath with him. It was the hardest moment of our life but at least he looked serene and at great eternal peace. I think he knew he felt safe and in good hands with the hospice nurses who were compassionate to us as he passed. Mom and I knew we chose the right place where he was taken care of for his last hour of life. Thank you Hospice of Acadiana Calcutta for taking care of us.”
