“One of my favorite thrift stores around! Has to have the best selection at all times with a constant update of new items. The staff seems to always be friendly and helpful. They almost always welcome me into the location. Plus they have nice clean, large restrooms.”

“A tad expensive for a self guided tour but its for a good cause. There were a few items in the gift shop that looked like they may be using AI generated content, which feels wrong for a place honoring the history and origins of an area. No stars were lost for this, but there were a lot of spiders and wasps, especially in the doctors house. It's an open-air museum in Louisiana in the summer, so that's not a surprise, but you should be aware of it before you go. Don't think i would go again, but if someone told me they wanted to stretch their legs and see some neat things, I might recommend it.”

“My favorite place to get inventory. However recently they seem to have the same clothes out for a week. When Marie was there she put them out every day. And there seems to be no shoes anymore. I miss Marie. She was the sweetest. Im not sure where she is - no one seems to know.”

“The docs didn't think my dad would make the trip from oshner but my dad was always the one to prove people wrong. The hospital didn't bathe him properly but Calcutta made him look like his old self. They gave him his dignity back to where he felt comfortable enough to leave us. They stepped out the room for my mom and I to spend his last breath with him. It was the hardest moment of our life but at least he looked serene and at great eternal peace. I think he knew he felt safe and in good hands with the hospice nurses who were compassionate to us as he passed. Mom and I knew we chose the right place where he was taken care of for his last hour of life. Thank you Hospice of Acadiana Calcutta for taking care of us.”

Brad, who runs the store, is awesome. The store is always very clean and they are selective on what they put out, no junk, excellent pricing. I’m surprised to see so many negative reviews!”
