“The Home Depot at 8601 W Judge Perez Dr in Chalmette, LA, has a lot to offer, especially with their pre-Christmas deals. I picked up some LED smart home lights for just $5 each, definitely a bargain!
Their tool selection is solid, although a few items didn’t stand out to me. One area of disappointment was their chainsaw selection, which was almost identical to Lowe’s. I’m not a fan of the market’s growing shift towards electric saws. Maybe I’m a bit old-fashioned, but I prefer shop tools that plug into the wall and outdoor tools that run on gas. Gas-powered tools remain more reliable in emergencies, like during power outages.
I had an interesting conversation with another customer about how electric chainsaws are reportedly causing safety concerns with chainsaw chaps failing—something worth noting if you’re shopping for one.
The staff was a mixed bag. While I found most employees distracted or unavailable, the cashier stood out for their friendliness and patience while helping me with my veteran discount. That level of service left a positive impression. Overall, it was a good visit, and I’d recommend this location for the deals and convenience.”
“Hanford was very helpful! He performed the work at a fair price and he was also able to refer me to other service providers if the job was outside of his expertise. I highly recommend him!”
“Love to browse through here. Has a bit of alot of things. Clothes, shoes, garden supplies, feed and munchies. The lady at the register is so into the store and her job it shows. Always feel welcome. Never do i feel like i'm bothering anyone if i ask questions. This store is run well and run with pride. Will be back.”
“I went to find some plants. Trace was very helpful. She walked me to the plants that I wanted. And she gave me some very helpful tips, such as companions to plant along side of the plants that I chose. So instead of one little lonely pepper plant, I got 3 other plants to keep the pepper plant company.”
“I had to make a plumbing repair, and my knowledge of it is minimal. I got help from Harold and Frank, their plumbing specialists. They took so much time explaining how to make the repair. I made multiple trips, and they continued to walk me through the process. Without the level of help they gave me, I would have had to hire a plumber. Thanks to them, I saved hundreds of dollars.”
“I have to shout out Home Depot in the east. I went in this evening because I didn't feel like traveling out of the neighborhood.
The first thing I noticed: there were plenty of employees in the store!
The store was well lit.
I walked into two different departments and BEFORE I could ask for help, I was OFFERED assistance!
Shout out to Tuan and Reaux. I would be remiss if I didn't also shout out Ms. Priscilla (Mgr?), visible and available to the customers. And I can't forget my two cashiers - yes I went back a second time today - Edna and Zyria, courteous and professional.
Thank you store #352”
“Went to the store to see if they have what I need, cause I really didn't want to get it online, I would rather face to face an employee of the store, but overall I love go in to see all the good deals”
“One of the employees (we didn't get his name but he is 6'7")there saw us and even though he was heading to lunch he stopped and escorted us to what we needed. He said it will only take me a few minutes to show you where you need to go and then I can go to lunch. That was true customer service. You don't get that too often these days.”
“Let's be real... Lowe's give you free air, what does home Depot give you for free? They work with iCE catching hard working immigrants, they support this president, Lowe's has an outstanding customer service, the store always looks amazing and you receive free air ?”
“Everyone was friendly. I needed something very obscure and even though many of tge floor staff wasn't certain it was carried, they helped each other find my item. I don't shop home depot any longer because of various choices the owner makes but I had no choice this time so I'm glad I had a good experience”
“Went in to buy a power drill. Great service from caring, well trained, well meaning, likable staff. This is a Home Depot. Nothing special but clearly well managed and better than what you expected from the usual Big Box store.”
