Very neat store. The Pharmacists are great. The techs need work-- in particular, politeness. Crack a smile once in awhile!

I’ve always used Walgreens Pharmacy so when I moved here aprox 2 1/2 years ago I transferred all of my prescriptions to the Chalmette location. I use auto automatic refill on the ones that apply, call in some using the “AI” phone refill service and of course there are the other ones that I must hand deliver. My medication regime runs smoothly and I’m never out of my medication whether the store fills it or central hub, it’s my responsibility to stay on top of it, but auto refill helps! Every month I have prescriptions that I hand deliver and depending on my situation & day I sometimes choose to wait for it to be filled just so that I don’t have to get back out after a long day especially if I’m not feeling like a champ. Yes there’s always a “wait “ for that “I need it now” service, that’s why we say “I’ll wait for it “!!! Several times I had just a minimal “wait” time I.e. 10-15 minutes and other occasions I waited 20-45, if they need 1-2 hours then I respect their timeline and where I “fall in the line”. Their “wait” time varies day by day and hour by hour depending on the pharmacy's demand trying to fill routine, call in’s, e-scribed and walk in’s, and keeping in mind they are absorbing the demands of another pharmacy since their closing. Fortunately or unfortunately, I do “visit “ the pharmacy counter and drive through quite frequently and I’ve never seen them any thing less than “IN OVERDRIVE” mode! Never playing around or talking on their phones as in one review I read, they are so busy I don’t know how they get to go to the restroom, lol!! I would imagine that’s why the phone situation is a “situation” as in being on hold for eternity, that does need improvement because it is extremely frustrating (nothing’s perfect). But the staff is extremely competent, helpful and friendly, most of them even know me by name!!! So a BIG SHOUT OUT TO: KERRY (pharmacist), ALL THE PHARMACIST AND THE PHARMACY STAFF!
Y’ALL ROCK and literally ROLL out those prescriptions!! THANKS FOR ALL Y’ALL DO
Y’ALL ARE APPRECIATED!!

Always out of medications, they text you tell you it's ready, you get there to retrieve medications they look for 10 minutes or they can't find it. Pharmacy needs a lot if improvement.

Never have prescriptions in stock even when i call the pharmacy before hand and ask 3 times. Like the 4th time they have claimed to have the prescription then when i went to go get it they didnt have it. I honestly do not know how they are not shut down due to the unprofessional manner of the pharmacy.

I called today and spoke with Miss Lou and even though she didn't have my Adderall prescription in stock she took the time to explain to me why it wasn't in stock and best practices to share with my doctor. It's extremely frustrating when your prescription is out of stock but having someone with the patience and understanding to at least show you they care is priceless. Job well done Lou

This pharmacy is the worst most unprofessional spot in the parish. All I wanted was one prescription. I was given a price for it wated an hour and then they said it was $500 more. Is that the scam you run? They wanted an authorization from the doctor. He wrote the thing to begin with. Its always a disappointment. Always, Always.

If I could leave a zero I would. The Pharmacy Tech working the drive thru at 5:00pm today has the nastiest attitude I have ever seen at a Walgreens. I've been receiving text messages from Walgreens in Chalmette for the last 2 days and an automated phone call stating that I have a prescription ready there. When I get there, there's no prescription. The answer should have been that the text was sent in error. I was met with, "the text must be old" as in October of last year? Are you serious? I just told and showed you you that I received the latest text yesterday and it's dated October 11th. I will no longer have doctors send my prescriptions over there ever again.

Booked online for a COVID screening, which their website allowed me to do. Sat in the drive thru for over an hour, just to be turned away. Mind you, they had signs in the drive thru saying that they perform COVID testing. Its ridiculous.
