I had a great experience and want to specifically thank Store Manager Jared Brummett for his outstanding professionalism and interpersonal skills. He took the time to listen to my concerns and clearly explained, based on his own experience, the steps CarMax takes during vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical quality and value. Jared also showed flexibility with a few small issues that were within CarMax’s control—items that cost the company little to fix but made a big difference to my overall experience. His decisions reflected both sound judgment and genuine customer care, creating a true win-win for me and the company. I’m grateful to Jared and his entire team for their excellent service.

Paid to have a car shipped in and it was a mess. 90% of the damage was not depicted in the pictures and it had hidden damage in the under carriage. Poorly painted repairs not listed on CarFax, and it had tape holding parts of the vehicle together. Took it for a pre-purchase inspection and my mechanic told me “absolutely no way should I buy this car”. When I returned the vehicle and told them all that was discovered, they only asked, “so you’re not moving forward with the purchase”? I was very disappointed.

Rude, rude rude. Went this morning shortly after 9:00 when they opened. There was not another person out there looking and we were told since we didn’t have an appointment that we couldn’t be helped. (Website does not state that you need an appointment) There were 2 ladies working and they told us they were about to get busy at 10:00. Guess they didn’t want to be bothered yet. Took my checkbook to another dealership.

I had a great experience with Clint!
This was my first time buying a car in nearly 10 years, and my first time doing a trade-in. I found a car I liked and paid to have it shipped to the Covington location to test drive.
I was able to drive on my own and inspect the vehicle as much as I wanted to. There was absolutely no pressure from the Carmax Staff. I also appreciate the 10 day return option, “no questions asked”.
Clint was super friendly, answered all of my questions, and gave me the clarity I needed to feel comfortable making a purchase. The entire buying process took about 2 hours and he guided me step by step. So much more relaxed than going to a standard dealership!

Seamless! I thought there would be some changes or back and forth about my offer, but I was pleasantly surprised. I uploaded my documents in advance, and probably spent 20 minutes or less at the dealership.

Covington carmax by far has been the worst one that I have dealt with i really feel like David or Davis has a very nasty attitude very rude and it seem like it was on some racist type stuff and its like it rubbed off on the others I walked away feel the deal I will buy somewhere else if I could give a zero I would

We were selling my father's car. At age 87 he finally agreed to give up driving. Car was 10 years old with low mileage. Folks at Carmax were so friendly from the time we walked in the door till the time we left. We got a very fair offer - no hassles, no games, no problems. My father was so impressed at how smooth everything went. Took about 1/2 an hour. They handle all of the paperwork
I will definitely come see Carmax when I am ready to purchase my next vehicle.

Sorry we ever walked in the the place. We found several vehicles in the $19,000.00 range had issues..ie:. Rusted trunk and floors under sears, Broken motor mount on another, front end alignment way out, etc. Then a paperwork snafu ended our 4 month search.

I love the hassle free streamline process that Carmax uses. I brought my car in and after approx 1 hour of the appraisal process I left with a check. No back and forth and so up front with explaining everything from the start.
