I been on hold for 6 minutes and then hung up on. So ya today as soon as I am out of a meeting you will be seeing me and I will be taking money out from this bank account. It's bs we deposit on Friday to pay rent and Saturday we can get nothing. Now we have a late fee because of your bank .sure don't answer phone. My mother worked in a bank for 50 years and has never heard of this shit you are dealing with a stroke patient. Made him go to drive threw to open account. In a wheelchair. Because you don't want to open doors or answer phone. See you soon. You will be losing all family members from us.

Customer service is definitely lacking with pelican state credit union.. way better options and customer support/service available elsewhere. Mark and avoid! Disappointment waiting to happen here.

’ll assume that I am an inconvenience to Faith Jones who has been passive aggressive and rude during my short time with the credit union. I was referred to Pelican by a friend who recommended their credit counseling services. I only opened an account because she insisted that they truly were a great choice. However, after having to reschedule my initial consultation due to a death in my family and some other work matters, Faith gave me the immediate impression that I had wasted her time. I left several voicemails to reschedule and she never returned any of my calls. I then attempted to contact her via email to reschedule and asked for a more up to date number that I could call since she never answers and she, in so many words, told me that her number is at the bottom of her email so I should already have it. She ignored more of my calls repeatedly since. Furthermore, she continued to tell me that she had other consultations that requires her attention and never emailed or called me back since. I called the branch to request a different counselor because of my negative experience and I was assured that they would reassign me and give me a call that same week. Well that never happened. Moral of the story, take your customer service somewhere of which you won’t feel like a burden to those who are in position to help you.

Mark Woodward was the nicest man I’ve met in a bank. He was very helpful to me. He helped me with a loan and gave me some pointers on how to increase my credit score. Thank you Mark and God Bless you my Brother!!!

Why is Pelican always closed on Saturdays now. It is very inconvenient for those who can not make it there by closing during weekdays. You could at least have drive thru open.

Absolutely horrible service . Every time I come they are so rude! They make their own rules when it comes to this bank . I have been to multiple other branches and got a new debit card no issue. They made the whole process complicated. The first time I went, I asked for a new card but wanted the same number and was told that I HAD to get a new number because I didn't have the old one in person even tho I told them I cut it and threw it away myself . Being that my card was broken in the wash I did not want a new card number, I did not want to replace it on all of my auto bills. Also I had just gotten a new card from the Hammond branch the week before (because I went with my husband who needed a new one), and they did not ask for my old card and when I asked if they needed it they replied with no ma'am . WITH NO CHARGE WHAT SO EVER . so I went back to the denham one and asked them for a card again just to see the answer, and they tried to charge me 10 DOLLARS for a new card ! I have been going to this bank since I was 18 years old & the service at the denham one is just ridiculous. I shouldn't feel awkward and uncomfortable going to the same bank I've gone to for years. Every time I go, I am treated as a new customer but let it be some man they can flirt with and they become the nicest ladies ever!!

This company have employees that do not have good customer service at all they are very rude then they say that other co-worker saying that they have bad experience from you when you have not talk to them at all you make payment on your loan every two weeks

Been a customer for a few years now. Had a side by side with them that was recently paid off and have 2 vehicles with them now. However after calling 4 times and being on hold over 20 minutes each time after being told i was in "position 1" from the get go and nobody can answer the phone to answer a couple questions, i will be taking my vehicles and business else where! Absolutely ridiculous! The one time i did get someone on the phone in the last week, she couldnt answer my questions as she sat and ate in my ear. Then just hung up the phone after being zero help!

When depositing an “Official Bank Check” today, I noticed some hesitancy. One of the teller asked, where did I get the check from? Then, the check was deposited and place on hold for 7 days, however the investigation continued. Soon afterwards, a message was left on my phone stating the back office determined that the check was bad, therefore it was deleted from my account and destroyed. I called customer service and was informed it was fraudulence because there is no Peoples Bank in Indiana. On the contrary, there are many Peoples Banks in Crown Point, IN, East Chicago, IN, Hammond, IN, etc. I went back to the bank to get the check thinking this has to be a scheme; because I knew the check was legit. There were holes punched and VOID stamped on my legit check. Why wasn’t I notified prior to destroying my legit check and why wasn’t it returned to me, instead of your trash bin. Inequalities. It is disappointing and so sad to know that Pelican State Credit Union, which I have been with for years, can not distinguish a fraudulent check from a legit check or did my appearance play a role in the decision. I deposited another check at a different credit union without any issues.
