They are very caring people that do great things for so many cats. They should be more places like that that help so many people. They are so nice and very thoughtful people that work there .

Misleading services and pressuring caused delay in puppy getting necessary treatment.
I found a pit bull puppy and scheduled an appointment with tangipahoa animal services to have her spayed, chipped, and vaccinated for $140.
I called big sky rescue for help finding her a home. I told them I already have her scheduled for her medical stuff for $140. They said they'd rather do it there if they were going to help adopt her out. With them knowing how much I was going to spend and on what, I figured it would be in the same ball park for the same services. They pressured me to make an appointment and said they'd call me back with the price. So, I canceled my appointment with Tangi animal services that was a few days before my appointment with Big Sky.
They finally call me back today for the appointment that is tomorrow and asked me basically why I can't just keep her and informing me pit bulls are hard to adopt out. (I know that's why I'm asking for your help.)
I finally asked once again what the price would be and they had told me it would $250. I had to ask what that included and they told me it was for vaccinations, chip, and deworming. Maybe some other stuff but not spaying.
I'm not complaining about the price, I'm aggravated that this puppy could have already had everything done if they kept me informed. Time really matters when it comes to puppies getting the treatment they need. I don't know how this isn't important to them.

Very friendly and caring staff! Clean facility and well cared for animals! They go above and beyond caring for cats and kittens in the community and I wish more shelters were like them!

Brought in a day old kitten. The people were so kind and concerned. Gave me advise and what I needed to take care of the baby. Best place I've been for animal care!

I spent considerable time at the ranch and it is one of a kind.
Unfortunately you can not make the folks take a break there. The needs of the community are endless and if animals are in need, they can't seem to make themselves stop working. So it's up to the community to do their part by having their pets spayed and neutered, and safe and secure at their homes and not free roaming to be injured.
You folks in the area have no idea what it takes physically, mentally and financially to operate such a facility and how fortunate you are to have them.
They are always in need of responsible volunteers.
Please don't put it off, give them a call today.

Most amazing caring people just trying thier hardest to save animals in need. A no kill shelter that can use all the support they can get. Please adopt from Big Sky, volunteer, or just send a donation every bit helps them continue to save lives. A lot of their animals were to be euthanized if it wasn't for these amazing people.

This rescue does big work without being a huge rescue. They take in hurt cats too, and they operate where there is such need in Louisiana, and have been known to save the injured from wherever they may be and the also do adoptions! Super great group!

I reached out to these people who are complete strangers to me. I have a stray that was hit by a car and it broke both front Humeruses. The staff reached out several times to get everything lined out and we are set for surgery this coming Saturday. They have gone above and beyond already for Meja and they haven't even met her yet! I see several complaints here and I can't help but smh at your lack of understanding. If they didn't call back you didn't pass the background check and they run a sanctuary so NO they aren't going to take the pet you are supposed to be caring for all of its life. People never cease to amaze me with reviews and comments when they don't get their way! As a rescue myself I can't help but read some of these and just wish each of you had the opportunity to walk a few days in their shoes and then come back and revise what you had to say due to lack of knowledge and experience in this field of service. You can't even begin to imagine what a day in the life there looks like and I'm forever grateful for their help with my girl! I can never thank them enough for finding space to help her and me and such a horrible situation. Thank you BSR and everyone else until you walk a mile just be kind!

They are mean and only care aboud animals that they make money on sent a bunch of stray cats there that were left on the side of the road and they wanted 500 bucks to neuter them and detained my motber in law like they think they are some kinda authority and one of their employees threw my neices phone when i tried to talk to them they are terrible people.
