First rate company. Always on top of making sure you are happy with your stay at their properties. Grand isle doesn't look like much but it's a gem of a place. A slice of heaven for fishing crabbing shrimping. Never know what bounty she will provide each year. If crabs arent prevalent then you will reap benefits of fishing. If there a problem at your camp, which doesn't happen often, then a simple call to Island Reality will get it resolved quickly. They are very friendly and knowledgable. But then most people on the island are. Would give 10 stars if possible

I recently rented a house by the name of Rocky T. Top from Island Realty in Grand Isle Louisiana. I had asked for three bedrooms and three bathrooms. We were shown pictures of the House on a computer in the reality office and were satisfied that the bedrooms were adequate for the three of us.Once we got to the house I discovered that the third bathroom was on first floor with it's entrance from the garage. This would have been difficult if the weather had turned rainy since you had to go down a fllight of stairs outside!!I also found that although the downstair bathroom was adequate with toilet, shower tub and laboratory the hot water faucet did not work. So I could shower and use the toilet but I couldn't shave unless I I used used the upstairs bathrooms. (I should have called the realty office as directed by the binder in the house for renters. However I wasn't inconvenienced so I didn't call.).I gave a rating of 5 stars because Rocky T. Top was a fun house to rent. It is across the street from the Sureway Grocery store and a terrific birding site maintained by The Nature Conservancy. The house is located near a number of restaurants and businesses. Also the house has a great back porch overlooking the beach; and for even a better view there is a looking tower connected to the back porch where you can go up another level and have a 180 degree view of the area!!Finally, I would be sure to read the rental agreement carefully as one of the ladies with my group was surprised to find fees and cleaning charges but the great thing we stayed three days and two nights for less than $ 100 each!!The staff of Island Reality were very professional and cooperative with rentals and I would go through them again if I return to Grand Isle.

Myself, my fiancé (our kids) and our best friends rented the Rocky Top house with checkin being 4pm on June 13th and Check our being 11am June 16th. The issues started from the beginning. When we pulled up there was a strong smell of sewage coming from the yard. We chalked this up to being the lines and proceeded to enter the house. We walked in and noticed the first bedroom’s bed was not made. While walking through to see if this was just one bedroom we realized the room with the twin beds were also slept in and not cleaned. The trundles were pulled from under the beds and were also a mess. We instantly called the realty company. We then had to call the cleaning crew. We had to remove everything from the house and wait outside until the house was cleaned. From 4pm until 5:30pm we had to wait for the house to be cleaned. Keep in mind we had to pay for rental starting at 4pm. The cleaning crew finished and stated the towels were in the dryer and we had to fold them. Cool no problem. We immediately went to the beach. After returning later in the evening we discovered we did not have the stated 7 towels but only 4 and we were missing sheets for the trundles. We again placed a call to the realty company. We were again told to call the cleaning crew. We were told by the cleaning crew they would return Friday with sheets and towels. As we were trying to cook dinner we found out only 2 of the 4 burners on the stove worked. One would ignite to a foot fire while in low if you put a lighter to it. That was a fire hazard so we opted to not use that one. The kids decided they wanted to watch a little tv while we cooked. One of the big reasons we opted to rent this house was internet and cable tv being offered. Except we couldn’t get either. At some point 3 different people sat in chairs with nails sticking out of them. One persons clothes were ripped, one was scratched, and one was cut. The next morning we called the realty company again. We were told the cleaning crew would bring sheets and towels later in the day and they would send someone to fix the tv and internet. The cleaning crew showed up with sheets later in the day but no towels. One of the ladies apologized and said she would leave the towels on the dryer. We left for the beach. After lunch we came back and my daughter decided she would take a nap with my granddaughter while the rest of us left for the beach. Within 30 minutes a lady attempted to enter the house. She didn’t knock but tried to force her way into the house. My daughter FaceTimed me and opened the door. Once inside she touched my grand daughters face and called someone. We headed back to the house because my daughter was concerned. The lady stated she could not fix the issues and someone would be their either later that day (Friday), Saturday, or Sunday. By Saturday we gave up on getting the towels we were supposed to receive when we checked in on Thursday and opted to buy laundry detergent and wash what we had. While getting dressed the guy to fix the tv and internet pulled up. He worked on the box, the lines on the house, and the lines on the pole for about 3 hours and finally got us internet and tv. Or so we thought. We got one channel because the remote to change the channels was not in the house. It was golf for 4 hours straight and then the news. The kids were not at all happy. Sunday morning we checked out and compiled a list of grievances. On Tuesday we contacted the realty company which basically pushed blame off on the owners and maintenance. We did receive a $200 refund for cleaning services but were told that’s all they could do. We did not get what we paid over $1000 for and were told oh well. Had someone been injured bad by the nails in the chairs or the stove that could have burned the house down they would be looking at a lawsuit. As a realtor i am appalled by their lack of concern for a property which has their name on it and they manage.
