An excellent, unique lodging experience. The rooms belong to a historic mansion and its carriage house in a quiet neighborhood, and each is very private and eloquently designed. Mine had an Arabic theme with a lavish king bed, a massive jacuzzi tub, and a screened-in porch to take in the sounds of the night on. I was not prepared for the breakfast: a full southern meal with restaurant-grade eggs, potatoes, and toast; not the buffet-style stuff you see at most hotels. You can tell a lot of care goes into the accommodations and guest service here, and this is absolutely the type of non-corporate business you should support if you find yourself in East Louisiana.

Cancelled my reservation because "they got a better deal with a large party"! Then he turns all negative reviews as the "customers" fault. Wow, nice!

I would like to speak to someone other than the gentleman over the phone pertaining to a matter. I talked to the gentleman to ask why I was charged a different charge after checkout that I did not authorize nor did I sign any paperwork pertaining to the rental of the suite. I also did NOT receive my confirmation email. During check in I did NOT sign anything at all. The man said the remote was lost. I do NOT have the remote and feel the unauthorized charge on my card is unfair. I offered to come look for the remote myself. The gentleman also threatened me with a 300 dollar cleaning fee after I brought the extra charge up for discussion when the place was NOT left a mess. I feel this is injustice and a rip off. I asked the gentleman if they charged the people in the suite a fee also due to loud music all night and I could not sleep nor enjoy my time in my suite.

The food was excellent. A beautiful place to stay, and also to have weddings.

Wonderful place. Rooms are cozy, staff is friendly, food is wonderful. It gives off a lovely Louisiana vibe! My wife and I can't wait to see all the new and exciting renovations that y'all are doing for the place!

The room was spacious, but:The jacuzzi tub was dirty and had a leakThe room was not cleaned properly; there were no plastic bags in the trash cans, and they were dirty from other guests, the shelves were so dusty we couldn't put any of our toiletries on them, there was only one tiny bottle of combined shampoo/conditioner that was of the lowest quality, the porch in front of the room was an in closed porch with an ash tray full of cigarette butts right in front of our room's entrance! And smelled heavily like smoke. The main house we went to for breakfast was beautiful, but:There were renovations going on, so it was super noisy with workers with dusty clothes going back and forth grabbing coffee from where we were supposed to get coffee. The waiter said "complimentary" breakfast like 10 times as if we hadn't paid for it already with the room! We ordered sausages and bacon, but they only put bacon. We asked for another croissant, and the waiter was like, "Let me see what I can do!!" As if we were begging for a piece of food which was super off-putting and rude. Especially when he came back with a tiny one, and only one for two people saying, "Here you go!!The grounds need serious upkeep. The gazebo needed paint, and the fringes had fallen off and were just laying on the ground. This place has so much potential. It was so sad to see it was nothing like its pictures and that they had forgotten to do any upkeep to the rooms and property. A basic cleaning would have been nice!!Adding: property lies about us damaging the room. We have proof of how we left everything, even more pristine than when we checked in. This property should be reported for falsifying information.

Gorgeous setting in a well appointed, colonial revival style home. Southern style cuisine, prepared with fresh ingredients and attention to detail. All day breakfast service and scrumptious lunches!

Stayed in the Oriental Suite with my girlfriend. The room itself is lovely. The bed was comfy, that had every kind of pillow you could ask for. The room has a fridge, microwave, Jacuzzi tub, speedy wifi. It also has a private entrance and is separate from the main house. The downside of this is the private entrance is quite literally on the driveway on the primary parking lot, so you have to walk on the street to get to your room.Service was sort of non-existent. There is no housekeeping, the towels and toiletries provided are all you get without having to call up and ask for replenishment. It also means there's no trash collection should the tiny can in the room get full. However, everyone you speak to is extremely friendly and accommodating. The property itself is lovely but it's in the middle of just suburbs and industrial parks, so there's no lovely views or anything. My biggest gripe is that there's no amenities listed anywhere! Not on the website, not on the info panels in the room, not in your reservation email. This made it difficult to figure out how the complimentary breakfasts worked. Or if they were even complimentary at all. But yes, there's free breakfast. Served from 8am to 10am every day in the main house. It's the same meal though, so if you're staying for a long time you'll probably want to go elsewhere eventually. We didn't even get asked what we wanted on the first day they just handed us a plate of food, which is terrible if you have any allergies.I will not be coming back to the Michabelle Inn. It's fine, and they were undergoing some reservations while we were here so I hope they're on the mend. But as it stands now, mediocre at best.Rooms: The rooms are wonderful. They're unique, historically decorated or themed, and cozy.Walkability: There are no sidewalks or paths. Just the main driveway and parking lot, which is extremely sketchy and narrow. In the suburbs of Hammond so I can't recommend walking into town.Food & drinks: The food is good, but there's zero variety. Apparently there's a restaurant that operates on the property? It tends to conflict with the guest breakfasts and waiters are confused on whether or not you're a guest at the inn or a customer of the restaurant.

The rooms are really nice and the service is amazing and very personable. The breakfast is always made to perfection. I am recommending this place to everyone I talk to.

This was out first time and we enjoyed every second of it.Awesome experience.Had no issues with the jacuzzi.Very relaxing!!!Our secret get away spot.We plan on going back and trying different suites!!Few recommendations though:1. For the oriental/zen room, maybe add some "fake" bonsai trees.2. Upgrading the mattresses to softer mattresses, like a temperpedic.3. Offering a tour to the guests would be awesome.Last, not least.Prayers that your hiccups go away!!!Rooms: Zen room/suite is very relaxing. The only tiny issue that I had was the bed was very firm.Food & drinks: I only recommend that you bring drinks bc from my experience, only coffee and tap water were offered in the room.Which I didn't have a problem with. I had already assumed we would have to provide our own drinks, I just know that some people might forget this aspect.

The mansion is over 100 years old so don't expect it to be brand new, but filled with charm and a wonderful staff. Close to Toula shopping and restaurants, Five star restaurant is maybe 10 minutes away and is superb. Great couple getaway to relax and be on no time lines to help and destress from everyday life . Nice to wake up and talk over coffee on the gorgeous southern balcony. This is our third visit in 5 years and we always book the balcony rooms

this was my partner & I’s second time staying here. The first time it was lovely. However, our second time we found a cockroach on our bed (upon arrival, we did not open the balcony doors or go onto the balcony at all) which was very off-putting, especially considering the price of the stay—we opt to stay at nicer places to avoid this exact situation. We are the type of people that once we see a roach someone we do not go back—not sure if it’s a southern thing or not due to the weather being warmer but definitely not a fan of seeing that in the room. However, the owner was nice enough to move us to a different room without a hassle, so that was appreciated. The rooms are older so I agree with other comments about a dusty smell. The town it is in is smaller, so if you’re looking for a more romantic B&B stay, I’d recommend another location especially considering the price point of this place.

The ac would not cool below 80 degrees. It kept switching between 81 and 80. The pictures are from when it was built more than ten years ago. The carpets are the same only now there black. The floors are soft and the dressers and table move and sway when you walk, especially by the tub in the venetian room. The cob webs with dirt in them as soon as you walk in set its off. And all of that we were still going to stay. Then my wife turned the blanket down to reveal what looked like seman stains from sex parties on the sheets. Yes I understand that's what rooms are for only they should have clean unstained and unsoiled sheets for the guests. Nope nope nope. Left within 20 minutes of arriving and yes we was charged 188 for 20 minutes. And still went to a holiday Inn. I will never attempt to stay here again. IN THE OUT OF HOUSE SWEETS. THEY ARE JUNK. I can't speak for the rooms in the house. I have not stayed in there. I stayed 10 years ago in the new Orleans sweet on my wedding night and now trying to recreat that, this place has disappointed me ,and has not been kept up. Just disappointed it's in shambles and dirty and not kept up. It could be so beautiful. Here's a pic of the rug at the foot of the bed to reference to the pic online. It's so black and compressed compare it ro the photos in the listing. I wish I took pictures of the cobwebs and a video of the floor moving

Do not waste your time or money going here. The pictures you see online are no longer a true representation of what it looks like now. The main house smells musty and in our room there was mold in the windows. The ac system is so poor that my pregnant fiancé and I had to leave just a few hours into our stay because we were sweating like crazy. The only good thing about the place is that the one staff member who checked us in was very friendly.
