I visited your store today intending to purchase a couple of Saltair products. I was originally going to buy them at Target but chose your store because you had the full line available. While browsing, I sprayed the body mist to test the scent. At that moment, a staff member who was cleaning up a spill informed me that the products were not testers and attempted to take the bottle from my hand, saying, “Let me get that.”
Not only did this catch me off guard, but it also made me feel as though she assumed I wasn’t going to purchase the products when in fact I had already decided to buy them. If customers are not allowed to try a fragrance before purchase, it leaves little way to know if I we like the scent.
Not only did I think k it was rude but another customer that witnessed the incident. Customer Service goes a long way! Even if the company does not provide testers, I think Ulta makes enough profit to write off a few bottles for store use!

Don’t trust the hair stylists they butcher ethnic hair.
this was one of my first haircuts since all of my hair grew back in and she was told that I just wanted a trim by me multiple multiple times.
she proceeded to cut way too much of my hair she cut over an inch that I had taken so long to grow and at some point, she told me after she had already put the razor in my hair that she was going to give me layers. I didn’t ask for that. I just wanted to trim. I wanted my split ends cut and that’s all and next thing I knew there was a razor in my hair and she completely butchered it
It looked so lopsided when I turned around in the chair I almost cried and the hairstylist could see that she did such a bad job on my hair that it brought me to tears. I could tell she felt bad so She offered to straighten it, and at that point, I didn’t trust her to touch My hair anymore…..I paid and left
do not trust anybody who works here at Ulta. They are not professional. They gave me a refund on the service, but that was not nearly enough for the damage that they caused to my hair into my self-esteem because of the haircut this lady gave me, but I guess it doesn’t matter to them that much
Post update. I added pictures from when I went to get my hair fixed at another salon. This is what ULTA did to my hair and I didn’t know it but the back was even worse!!!!

Brooklyn was so helpful in recommending products for gifts for my niece and helping me find a new foundation. She was absolutely wonderful and very knowledgeable about what was popular with younger teenagers.

Horrible experience!!! The new Salon manager at Ulta Beauty in Hammond is very racist. She racially profiled my 14-year-old daughter and her friends while they were shopping and made them feel very uncomfortable. They were so uncomfortable that they left. She followed them around the store the whole time they were there and was very rude, disrespectful, and degrading. My daughter said that there were other groups of children in the store of the opposite race, and they were not treated in the manner my child and her friends were treated. This is unacceptable. We are in 2025 and African American people should not still be profiled in public places based on the color of our skin. This is so shocking and horrifying because this is a manager of this establishment behaving in this manner. Managers are supposed to lead by example and be professional. My child and I will never shop here again and I will be spreading the word amongst the black community that the Ulta in Hammond has employees that behave this way toward African American customers. We spend our money just like everyone else so we should be treated with respect and dignity, just like everyone else!

They carry a lot of brands I never heard of in the makeup line. The tried and true brands like L'Oreal, Maybelline, Cover Girl etc had a small area between 4-6 ft of product. Medium prices to very expensive. Overall the store was very neat and clean.

Lower the prices on hair dryers and people might be able to afford them but as long as they have those prices they will just stay in the store forever

Brooklyn is an amazing Makeup Artist. I went in today for some concealer, but I left out with so much more because of her outstanding customer service. She was able to educate me on all products, she tested the products on me and even helped me find other items I was looking for in the store. I definitely will be going back to this location in the near future.

Horrible place. I made an appointment a week ago for a blow out this afternoon, as I am traveling and have a wedding to attend this evening. They just called and cancelled on me THREE HOURS BEFORE because the stylist is sick, which I understand. I explained that the wedding is in hours and as I am traveling, I don’t even have a hair dryer with me. I begged for someone else to see me or for another recommendation, and the employee on the phone’s words were “It’s not my fault she threw up.” She then suggested I drive to another town and couldn’t recommend anything even in this city to make up for them canceling. So unprofessional, rude and messed up. Do not waste your money here, they will gladly cancel on you and then refuse to offer any helpful suggestion or even apology.

New Lady working at ulta named Juilette was extremely good. I got cut and color and was able to get in and out really quickly for what needed to be done ( double processed blonde). She is extremely knowledgeable and cares about the health of your hair. Everyone working around her was very nice and we all had great conversations and laughs. I highly recommend to friends and family and actually already have. They also will make appointments with Juliette!

Absolutely the WORST customer service experience.. Extremely rude and cocky.. I waited and looked for a worker to find help. I ended up finding I assume the manager on shift. I asked 1 question. She flat spoke to me like I was a moron and rolled her eyes. Bit given her attitude and cockiness refused to help and told me she won't and for me to come back at 11:30. Short Grey hair. Didnt catch name. She was so beyond rude, I decided to walk away instead of telling her how I felt. Needless to say. I DIDNT GO BACK AND WILL NOT GO BACK. What a rude 1st experience after moving here to HAMMOND. I WILL FOR SURE FIND ANYWHERE BUT THERE.. Work on your customer service and facial expressions, AS WELL AS KNOWLEDGE LADY.. Probably make better money there if she was gone from the picture.. sad really

If they don’t have it…you don’t need it! All the best for hair, makeup, nails, skin and much much more! Don’t take my word for it…go see for yourself! You will find things you need and want. I did!
