She greeted us straight through the door and assisted us with all our questions. She made the shopping experience very pleasant and wasn't overbearing. The ladies were so nice on my first visit (I was not shopping the first visit, I was paying my friends invoice) i went back and got a living room set for myself. INITIAL PROBLEM:
If I could give zero stars, I would. Do not order online and have it delivered to a store, especially the HD in Elmwood; you’ll be waiting forever. My purchase, almost $300, was to be delivered between Monday - Wednesday. I called 4 times. The item is at the store, but no one in receiving is bothered to check in the deliveries. Surely if it were their purchase, they would be more willing to do their job. And whoever is manning the phones at HD is extremely unhelpful.

I’m changing my review to 5 stars! After posting my initial review, receiving a reply from HD, and filling out the grievance form they attached, HD made it right. THANK YOU! I reordered my item after canceling the first one, but lost my $15 promo. HD reinstated the promo code and I’ll receive my saw by Friday. I’m very grateful for the intervention!”

“The Home Depot at 8601 W Judge Perez Dr in Chalmette, LA, has a lot to offer, especially with their pre-Christmas deals. I picked up some LED smart home lights for just $5 each, definitely a bargain!
Their tool selection is solid, although a few items didn’t stand out to me. One area of disappointment was their chainsaw selection, which was almost identical to Lowe’s. I’m not a fan of the market’s growing shift towards electric saws. Maybe I’m a bit old-fashioned, but I prefer shop tools that plug into the wall and outdoor tools that run on gas. Gas-powered tools remain more reliable in emergencies, like during power outages.
I had an interesting conversation with another customer about how electric chainsaws are reportedly causing safety concerns with chainsaw chaps failing—something worth noting if you’re shopping for one.
The staff was a mixed bag. While I found most employees distracted or unavailable, the cashier stood out for their friendliness and patience while helping me with my veteran discount. That level of service left a positive impression. Overall, it was a good visit, and I’d recommend this location for the deals and convenience.”

“Brought my vacuum in for repair, and they went above and beyond to service it. Broken parts were replaced and the price was great. Picked up a couple of (now my favorite) cleaning supplies on my way out.”

“As a frequent needle-crafter/fabric recycler and doll-maker - I was lucky that I thought to ask the manager over at JOANN's in Gretna, if they knew of a place where I might get my sewing machine serviced. She was quick to recommend ALL ABOUT SEWING. Things were just coming back after the months of COVID shutdowns, so I brought my beloved Singer Featherweight 221 (a legacy from dear departed mom, given to HER - as a wedding gift in 1946 (!) They said I'd have to wait a bit. It took awhile, but I must say the friendly service, the way I was kept informed of progress, and told what was needed (not much, it turned out) made it a pleasure. The skilled, savvy folks at ALL ABOUT SEWING, then were able to 'spiff up' my machine. It was well worth the wait. My machine looks good as new, and runs like silk. Huzzahs!”

“I went to several big box stores looking for a variety of refrigerators because I wasn’t sure what I wanted. Unbelievable that not one store had more than a couple of models to look at! Nobody had anything in stock, everything “has to be ordered”. Then found Barto’s. The only place with actual specialists who can answer questions other than price or delivery. They can tell you brands for whatever feature you are looking for, make recommendations that really provide confidence in your purchase. Then the delivery and installation was so fast! I knew before I left the store when the appliances would arrive. And they were right on time. Calvin and his assistant were the ultimate professionals. Planned out how to move refrigerator in and out past walls and furniture.without a ding or scratch. This company is the absolute best for professionalism and personal care.”

“So i bought a washing machine from here, and the thing ended up being defective. I called and they came on my next day off to check it out- I couldn't believe it but they actually took the broken machine back and brought me a different, working machine! I was really worried after reading the negative reviews on here but these guys have been in business since 1999, so honestly a couple of bad reviews probably doesn't represent their hundreds (or more) of satisfied customers. I'm just so grateful they brought me a working machine. Mistakes happen, but it takes character to fix them. Thanks guys!”

“Delivered here at 8 am. A little tight to get into but the crew was all super nice and seemed like they took had their coffee this morning. They got straight to work getting me unloaded! Thanks guys great experience. Their really isn't overnight parking but a gentleman pulled up last night and said that normally the trucks park either in the lot in front of the docks or on the side of the street on what looked to me to be a perfectly placed and sized parking spot completely off the street.”
