“This store has been remodeled beautifully by the new owners. It is a one stop shop neighborhood store. Food, clothing, purses, accessories, you name it! The owner is nice and workers are friendly. I received personal attention. I'd recommend a visit to this store for sure. I was shown a purse that had a makeup compartment at the bottom which was awesome!”

“Plenty of parking the baskets are picked up regularly from the parking lot I easily found the prepared sandwiches that I was looking for for myself and those I was working with along with the particular type of chips that they had asked for. The staff inside was very helpful and friendly and quickly help me to check out and leave the store. I wish it was close to my house as I would use that as my grocery store exclusively!”

“Very nice upgrade from the old store. Helpful staff and a fair selection help to offset the insanely high prices. I really only venture here in emergency situations on account of my not being a member of the aristocracy.”

“THANK GOODNESS we finally have something other than Walmart on the Westbank! This Aldi is so much cleaner and more organized than the Kenner store. I absolutely love the fresh produce, no-brand snacks with no artificial flavors and the large selection of cheeses. Aldi also seems to have the best prices on eggs. This store will for sure replace my Trader Joe’s trips.”

“Very clean store with friendly associates. It was very refreshing to get the "local" experience here. Shelves were well stocked even the day before Thanksgiving. Pricing was comparable to the larger chain stores and despite being a busy day, the checkout lines moved quickly with a simple transaction and most importantly, no gimmicks. I'll certainly be doing more shopping here”

“A really cool and unique bodega. The produce on hand was not fresh and had a good deal of mold, but everything else was completely fine. The woman who assisted me with my purchase was very lovely, suggested I return when they start the pizza ovens open for business soon.If I lived in this town, I definitely would, unfortunately I’m just a passersby, but I definitely recommend this little humble spot for some basic goods, whether unique or familiar to you.”

“IN OVER 30 YEARS I'VE NEVER BEEN DISAPPOINTED 1. Prepared Foods: perhaps the biggest selection in New Orleans. Some standouts: - the chicken salad is the best in the city and they can't keep it on the shelves. - they make my favorite coleslaw, lightly sweet and sour, with a bit of Creole mustard; great on sandwiches (see pic). - better cheddar is a little spicy - which I prefer. 2. Employee retention: I'd say that at least 6 employees ( management, cashier, deli, etc.) have been with this small organization since I moved back uptown 10 years ago.”

“I’ve been coming here for a few years. This is a great market and I am very surprised by the comments. I am not Arab and I’ve always been helped and thanked for purchasing. Not sure how much friendlier a grocery could be….it’s not a Hallmark greeting card store. The breads are freshly made and the ladies in the kitchen are always helpful if I don’t see the ones I’m looking for. The guy at the checkout is nice. Their shisha variety is amazing. I see they expanded their frozen section to include more Indian offerings. This place is great!I will always return!”

“Nikki, Nana, & Slim are some of the best cooks in NOLA. Let me tell you they have the best Fish & Grits bar none! And those smothered potatoes, OMG!...We went there one night after the club to eat and the food was so good we slept like babys and dreamed about that damn food it was so good to our soul. We went back the next day for more and bout 4 plates extra for our drive back home to Houston. My God that was the best eating this side of heaven. I'm just saying. If you want good down home real southern breakfast and creole cuisine this lil' hole in the wall down in the hood is where it's at. You want be disappointed. Tell'em Kevin Cooper from Houston sent ya!”

“There’s always that one store in a community that sells alcohol to minors. Well…a few times I’ve walked in on a weekend night and kids that looked 16 loaded the counter with a wide range of alcoholic beverages. No doubt they were using their parents credit cards and probably being charged a 100% markup ?. Also, they don’t turn the freezer to the proper temp as I bought a king cone ice cream bar, and it was melted. However, the owner and employees are pretty cool and will give you a bag (if you ask for one) ?”

“You Best believe this is the best deal on a shrimp plate in the city and seasoned. Hanks supermarket is definitely that go to spot daytime or night but especially after hours. They have breakfast, chicken and seafood plates along various PoBoys. One of the best things outside the flavor are the prices very reasonable and definitely a good fix for a late night of drinking and partying. I had a shrimp platter which comes with 20 shrimp and a very nice size and season with little kick laying on top of a bed of seasoned fries. Also comes out piping hot and overstuffed pouring out the side of the plate. This is a recommended spot Anytime at sun's up or sun down, but you won't regret it. At least your stomach won't.”
