I’m satisfied with my experience here. I took my used but new to us SUV here for a pre-purchase inspection. I grew up in my family’s auto shop and do majority of my own repairs/maintenance, but they were able to point out some things that I wouldn’t have noticed at all with the body and drivetrain. They also pointed out some things I wouldn’t have thought to even look at. For instance the rear struts were mismatched. One was OEM the other was aftermarket. They should be replaced in pairs. Would you just replace one tennis shoe if it had a hole in it? That’s not anything I would’ve caught or thought to look at until there were noticeable handling issues. They also pointed out failing/noisy pump. Realistically all minor problems.I took their report back to the dealer and asked them to make it right by replacing the rear struts with a matching pair, and to replace the failing pump. They acknowledged the problems, agreed with the findings, but refused to replace the pump and told me replacing one strut meets their service standards. If these are the dealer’s service standards, I don’t want any car that has been on their lot. They lost a $50k+ sale over literally a couple hundred dollars in parts that I could’ve replaced in my driveway in less than an hour.So thanks to Paul and Uptown Auto Specialist for pointing these things out and helping me dodge a bullet by getting to see how bad this dealership’s service standards are.I’ve read other reviews about Paul being rude, I found that to be not the case. He’s blunt, short, and straight to the point. Again, growing up in auto shops most mechanics I’ve been around are just that. It can be easily mistaken for being rude if you’re not used to people being blunt with you.As far as price. I knew what the price was before getting there, if I thought it was unfair I wouldn’t have gone.If I buy another used car, which it looks like I’ll have to, I won’t hesitate bringing it back here for another inspection. Hundreds of dollars now can save you thousands down the line.

Do not bring your Audi here. The con is that they charge you $240 to plug in the diagnostic tool. The rest is just guess work. They have no appreciation for the mechanics or issues common to these vehicles. The price almost seems reasonable until the issue comes back every 45 days.

Once again Paul had to fix my rig and he KILLED it! Hands down, this is the best shop in the NOLA area. Tell ‘em the Skull Jeep guy recommended you! If I have another kid, and god help me if I do, I’m naming him, Paul. If it’s a girl, Amanda!Bring your ride here!!

This sad mean old man stole my car. I have waited a while to write this review, literally took me three months to calm down. Every review on yelp is absolutely accurate of what he will do and any review you find telling you otherwise he has his secretary write. He will keep your car for months, perform thousands of dollars of unauthorized maintenance on your car and lie straight to your face. He is a crook. He put USED pieces in my vintage car without okaying it, charged me $2000 and didn't even fix my car. I thought he was scamming me so I had my mom call him and then when I went to go tow it out of his facility he blames it on my sweet mother sayin she told him to do whatever he wanted. She never said that, he's crazy and just a pathetic excuse of a business. I Called the cops and they said I had to take him to court, yeah let's pay $2k for a non working car you had for over a year didn't call me once, plus lawyer fees. He knows what he's doing, he steals your car and I'm sure he can all of a sudden fix it once it's in his possession. This guy belongs in jail. If anyone wants to go after this guy together message me on here, seems like a lot of people have been screwed over by him.

If you have a real problem with your vehicle, in my case an Audi, take it somewhere else. I originally chose this shop because it advertised experience in import vehicles...that doesn't seem to be the case.In short, I brought in my 2013 Audi Q7 that wouldn't start and they claimed they tested the engine and it needed to be replaced. Cost to replace...$28K. Needless to say that wasn't done and I paid $400 for their "work". I picked up the vehicle and had another shop do the work I specifically asked this shop to do...replace the water pump, thermostat and starter. I've been driving the vehicle ever since then for $2K of work.

What started out as being dissapointed by the service I received, has turned into me having to pay out of pocket for another shop to review the work they did after having my car break down in a grocery store parking lot.The utter lack of accountability shown from the people who run this shop, from their disorganization leading the work to take an additional 2 days, botching the actual job I paid them $1500 to do, to flat out lying to me about justifying their insane pricing, is so egregious, that I feel it necessary to add my real, honest review to the sea of 1 star reviews for Uptown Auto. If only to warn other customers to maybe research some other shops, or at least get a second opinion before committing to having this shop service your vehicle.I won't go in to the long, drawn out, story of my experience, but the bottom line is that I would not recommend taking your car here if you want good communication, quality work, or fair and honest pricing. I'm now convinced that most auto shops are bad, but the people who work here won't hesitate to lie directly to your face and rip you off.Services: Oil change

I was pleased with the system of making a booking on their calendar, and they followed through with service appropriately. They explained to me what was going on, and dealt with the problem as described.Service: Engine repair

Nice people, courteous. Dropped car off at 8am, 3:30pm now and I still haven't gotten a call for the "estimate". After reading other reviews decided to go get my car and bring it somewhere else. Guess they don't need th business.

First, let me say that Uptown does not accept CarShield warranty, so with that said, I wanted them to conduct an OBD scan on my Audi Q5 (2018).My appt. Was set for 9 am to which I arrived on time. Since only a scanned was to be preformed I figured on waiting, after an hour or two the owner’s wife ( I assumed his wife) suggested leaving my vehicle there and someone would contact me once the scan was complete. My vehicle was dropped off Tues morning and by Wed. I did not receive a call at all. Although I did not receive a call informing me about my vehicle I took it upon myself Thursday morning to go and retrieve my vehicle. The bill was $212 and the invoice did not state the findings or what was conducted. To be honest, I can’t tell you if they do good work or not but the way my situation was handled I would not recommend this place.Service: Electrical

This should not be seen as a negative or positive -- more as a matter of fact.Repair for suspension x4 estimate is $3500 = $1500 for parts and the rest is labor/miscellaneous. Diagnostic alone was $212 even though I wanted to replace all 4 struts-springs-etc prior to the diagnosis. I went searching for parts and costs are $450-700 for all 4 struts-springs. Something was bent in the rear that probably drove up the price, but don't quite remember. The local Subaru dealership recommended them since they do not work on Subarus past 2010 so I assume UAS does solid work; but for the price, it's high. I had all 4 struts replaced by my other mechanic last week for a Toyota Rav4 for $850 (May 2022).Other comments: They answer their phones promptly. They called with an estimate within 5 business days. I do consider them professional, just expensive. If they charged $2500, I would have done it.TLDR: $3500 for all Subaru struts VS $850 for Toyota struts. Maybe its a Subaru thing. Who knows.Service: Steering & suspension replacement

We were traveling west and our Mini had a coolant problem. We needed a quick and efficient repair. We phoned ahead of getting to New Orleans and they did us a great service and did a great job. We were able to get back on our way the next day. Great job and very satisfied customers.

My husband called to set an appointment and get a quote on the price of repairs for our vehicle. The woman we speak to on the phone was very lovely and helpful. She set our appointment and told us to call back in an hour to speak to Paul and he would be able to provide us with a quote. My husband called back the following day and asked to speak with the gentleman who was in charge. The gentleman was in fact Paul. My husband was immediately met with rudeness and agitation from the time he spoke to Paul. He tried to rush my husband off the phone. He continually denied that my husband even spoke to anyone at the shop, because everyone that worked there knew to give the right information. When my husband asked why he was being spoken to in this manner, Paul denied having an attitude. Needless to say, the the customer service was lacking significantly, along with professionalism. Due to this interaction alone, I cannot recommend going to this shop for your auto repair needs.
