Friendly people. Great help.At the time that is how I felt then. Now, not so much, if it wasn't for David in the pantry, it be hard to say a good thing about this place. Sure, I got help before, gas cards, partial reimbursement on my gas to get to appointments, Dr., lab. Then they say they broke, so no more gas cards. The only help I ask for, they stop that. I'll still go visit David, now and then, but even with pantry, it won't be every month.

Help for the person living with HIV and their loved ones. Need help getting glasses, dentures, an apartment, food pantry or a support group? SLAC can do all these things and more. I've been a client since I moved back to SW Louisiana from Texas. Can you say culture shock? Texas might have a reputation for being backwards and wrong in society at large, in Houston, they took good care of us. SWLA is a different culture, but the same problems. I think that SLAC goes above and beyond to help their clients. I needed housing when my mom died. SLAC helped me get situated in an apartment, paid the deposits and pays more than half the rent every month.

If you're sexually active and yoivr gone bare, you need this place. It's not just gays who get HIV. Anyone can get it. The demographics in the United States are that most of the people living with HIV are gay males. MOST. anyone can contact the virus. Get tested. It's much better to be living with HIV takingyour meds. I tested positive in 1987. That's over 30 years with treatment. I'd have been dead long ago if I hadn't got tested. Free 5 minute HIV tests. Make an appointment today.
