4/5 stars because wifi can be spotty, no continental breakfast, just coffee, which is room - no pun intended - for improvement. I love the smells, the historic antique shop feel of the lobby, and the art deco chandelier. I didn't see any **physical manifestations** of ghosts but I did get the feeling of being watched in my room, so that counts. The owner, Valerie, is friendly and accommodating. She will help you out with whatever you need. My experience was memorable and the bed was comfortable. It was my first time in Louisiana and I felt at home. Niece of the owner, Eamon E. Cauller (Alycia) (they/them)

We stayed here for Mardi Gras this year, it is in the perfect location in Mamou. We were right in the middle of the celebration with Fred’s right down the street. The staff was extremely helpful and helped us out so much! We will definitely be back next year!!!

Someone needs to check the definition of boutique because this establishment is not a boutique. The website is very misleading it does not have a bar, soda shop or dining. There is no ice machine, no coffee pot in room, if you are lucky you may get coffee served in lobby. The wireless internet is a joke all the TV does is buffer. Now let's talk about the hot water if you shower early before 6:00am you may be one of the lucky ones. We arrived at 3:30 and the doors were locked and had to wait 2 hours for Gail to show up. Once in the room we were told by the owner our conversation was to loud to hold it down because the tenant in the room next to us was trying to sleep. nothing but excuses by management. They were not prepared to be fully booked by any means. The rooms were clean but had a moldy closed in smell. Each room has a portable AC and if u would like heat they bring u a portable electric heater or extra blanket. because it was Mardi Gras the price was $353.00 night normally it would be $$150.00 which is about $90 to much for the accommodations. Even the local businesses spoke bad about the hotel. The website states 24 hour front desk service don't believe that either. Their website says satisfaction guaranteed the only guarantees you get are lies. The owner Valerie and the front desk clerk Gail were very nice and tried to accommodate but the overall experience was horrible. The only positive thing I can say about Hotel Cazan was make sure u get the price before booking and check you credit card statement before leaving. The hotel was shut down for about 2 years due to Covid and had storm damage from recent weather events and the roof is still covered with some type of tarp. The owner has two dogs and you will hear barking during ur stay. The owner Valerie did offer and we accepted a free night due to all the confusion. She also offered a free weekend later during the year because we threaten to leave early if we did not have hot water to shower. Her comment was she could hear water running in most of the rooms and she went thru 2 pots of coffee and that was the issue with the hot water availability. " what does two pots of coffee have to do with hot water to shower I have no idea" Although this is a great location and they try very hard to please you we will not be returning to this "Boutique Hotel".

Love this place! Love the people! Hotel Cazan is a privately operated boutique hotel located in the small Acadian Town of Mamou, Louisiana.
Cajun hospitality and charm abound.
The rooms are well appointed with a full bath/shower that is newly renovated and spotless!
The guest room is bright, fresh, with a most comfortable bed! Having a fridge in the room is a huge convenience. The large screen TV with Netflix is a big plus!
What’s not to love about Hotel Cazan and The town of Mamou.

This little hotel is a gem! When you are looking for a quiet little getaway, Mamou and Hotel Cazan is where you need to be. You won't want or need a thing, it's all right there. 5 star southern hospitality with a little extra. The hotel is charming, quaint and it felt like I was staying in a museum. Highly recommend!

I travel for a pet rescue and come to Mamou often and always stay at Hotel Cazan. Valerie and Gail have so generously open their doors and hearts to us! Wonderful hotel with so much history and don't forget the ghost who reside there as well.
