Would never visit again, unless an ABSOLUTE emergency. Will be taking my kitty to a different vet.I had an appointment at 3:30, but was not let into a room until 4:20. That is absolutely irresponsible. My cat is extremely anxious, and for ALL cats, this is not ok. A new place for a cat is stressful, and waiting longer than necessary is ridiculous. When we were finally in a room, the vet tech was very rude and would not tell me what she needed. She was very uncomfortable to be with, and it was already a stressful situation. I had to ask EVERY question because she would not tell me anything that she wanted. All together, not a pleasant experience for parent or cat. Go to a better hospital. This place isn't for cats.

I'm so glad that I only live a mile or 2 from the Cat Hospital of Metairie. I started going there not long after I moved to Metairie and found my little fur baby in my backyard. His mom was an unusually sweet feral who allowed me to pick her up sometimes. I loved feeding her and watching her just relax in my fenced-in yard. One night, I saw something small scurry across the back of the yard. Lo and behold, there was my future "hairy son"! He was so tiny! I brought him in to show my husband and take a few photos. When I brought him back out, I wasn't sure who his mom was because two cats came to eat and chill in my backyard daily. I put him down by one (all black), and she hissed at him. So, I assumed the sweet feral was "mama." She and her one beautiful kitten stayed in my yard. I bought them a house, toys you name it. One day, while watching them play, the kitten got up to walk, and he was a little wobbly. My MIL was visiting, and when she saw him wobble, she said, "Oh, my, he's LOOPY." And that's how he got his name.Anyway... I'm not really sharing the subject matter involved here... Cat Hospital. Loopy was about 12 weeks old when we saw him throwing up. My husband said I'd better bring him to that place right there on Veterans (Cat Hospital). So I got a box, and Loopy and I drove to the Cat Hospital. I believe Drs. Meaux and Miller were the veterinarians at that time. Dr. Meaux saw him and was amazed at how clean he was for being outside. He had no fleas or ear mites. She said he had a very caring mom, but if I wanted to keep him, I needed to not let him back out from now on. I came home and told my husband the news, and he said to set him up in the bathroom for now. From then on, he has been my "hairy son" Loopy! We have been going to the Cat Hospital ever since. I think Loopy has seen just about every veterinarian who came and went, and they all would fall in love with him. He is truly the sweetest cat I've ever known. He did hiss at Dr. Miller once, and she apologized to him. I asked what was that all about? She said that it was her fault because she was leaning on his tail. She's so cool!!! I've never taken Loopy to any other veterinary clinic, and he is going to be 20 years old in April!!! So I guess they do good work, right?! Right!!!

I truly can not say enough positive things about this vet's office. They go above and beyond to care for the cats they see and are exceptionally kind and compassionate with their humans, as well. I saw both vets and absolutely loved their bedside manner and willingness to answer all questions. My cat had a rare autoimmune condition which required careful treatment and protections. The folks who work here were unbelievably supportive and kind to me when I experienced a lot of unexpected difficulties in my life and was doing my best to keep my ESA, best friend and fur-baby Tamarind safe and healthy. I never once felt judged, dismissed or unsafe there. This is a queer friendly business, too! Dr. Thibeau and Kat the PA/receptionist were especially compassionate and kind. I know they also help out Trap Dat Cat with vetting services for community cats which is an incredibly generous and caring thing to do! Thank you all so much for your support through a very hard time.Be sure to let them know if you have insurance, or if money isn't an issue. Unlike most vets they seem to tend to assume folks are low on financial resources and will often suggest the more affordable routes when it comes to testing, treatments or meds. This is amazing! But they will maybe have other recommendations depending on your financial situation. It was profoundly refreshing to encounter a vet that seemed more motivated to make care accessible for cat owners than to nickel and dime them into poverty.

The vets were so helpful. We went to another vet prior and they estimated the costs would be 1,000$ just to figure out what was wrong with her, and made us pay $60 for an exam with no medicine. However, at the Cat Hospital of Metairie, they gave us medicine and an exam the same day for $80. They treated my cat as if she was a family member, not just another pet owner to get money out of. They gave my cat treats while I was there and the vet was very caring and patient. They even have sweet cats that they keep there that lounge around! You can tell they genuinely care about your cat and want the best care for you and your pet. I cannot recommend enough.

We’ve been using the Cat Hospital for 30 years. Our cats are well taken care of and we wouldn’t think of going anywhere else! Thanks, Dr. Miller and staff.

Dr. Miller’s service is always extraordinary. She is patient and knowledgeable with my Luka because he is aggressive during veterinarian appointments. I had another veterinarian hospital that refused care for my fur baby. I highly recommend the Cat Hospital of Metairie because no cat is left behind! THANK YOU! ❤️?

My cat, Seymour, has been going to the Cat Hospital of Metairie for almost 4 years now. The staff is always so warm and welcoming. My cat gets very anxious and the staff always make sure he is comfortable as possible during his visits! Also I have used them for boarding – always a great experience.

First time at the Cat Hospital yesterday and everyone could not have been kinder! The vet let my children listen to our cat’s heart and the receptionist gave them coloring sheets. Everyone was so sweet to our kitty cat. We are a new 2 cat family and feel so lucky to have found such a special practice in the Cat Hospital. We will be back!

I was asked to host a rubberstamping workshop as an enrichment program for the employees here. The entire staff as so kind and friendly, and I felt very welcome. The hospital is very cat-centric, with even the art on the walls being of felines. Two cats were walking around freely, obviously enjoying their home and the HUGE scratching post (counter height). I've also been a client of this place, and found Dr. Miller to be very compassionate in caring for my furbaby. Highly recommend!

There is literally no possible way our vet. visit(s) could be any better. My kitties are in the best hands with the providers and staff. Speaking of the staff, they continue to go out of their way to accommodate our needs---even very last minute ones!! We are very lucky to have the Cat Hospital there for all of ours and our kitties' needs!

There is absolutely nothing y’all could’ve done to make our experience any better — from your kind, compassionate. and extraordinarily competent veterinarians, to your equally kind, compassionate, and highly skilled vet techs, to your welcoming and accommodating front office staff, to your immaculate and quiet/low-stress facility, to your variety of be-sweet treats/toys/assorted kitty bribes — this is THE most wonderfully cat-centric practice! We love y’all <3

They fit me into their schedule last minute and stayed after hours due to me having to drive from three hours away. The visit was not rushed and the vet was super knowledgeable and I left there feeling like my cat had the best care! 10 out of 10 would recommend and I will be bringing both of my cats back to her when they have any urgent needs.
