This is another bank small businesses should be leery. This bank will charge you hundreds of dollars in fees because they charge fees against float. Your deposits under $200.00 are not immediately made available, like on a personal account. As such, if you made charges after a deposit thinking you had available funds, they charge you a fee on each transaction because the funds are "not available." Their odd computer system allows teller to input deposits two different ways, as such, some will show in pending transactions and others won't. Moreover, there are no branches to easily access. MOST IMPORTANTLY - - - THEY WILL STICK YOU WITH THE BAG! If a vendor accidentally overcharges you and the said charge overdrafts or snowballs your account, you get stuck with all the fees. Here is an example. Say you have $1000 in your account. You rent a piece of construction equipment for $500 and the cashier accidentally types $5000 in the credit card terminal. It is approved. You point out the mistake and she voids the transaction. You will receive a NSF charge for every transaction that comes through your account until that void drops out of pending which can be up to three days. If you are a small business owner, this is not the place to be. A messed up rental car transaction, hotel transaction, or similarly situated transaction can clean your company's account out.

Metairie Bank helped me get a account in 1999 when Hibernia refused me over bad credit. Metairie Bank was there for me. They are very personable and good people. They care. God bless them. Kimberly

**BEWARE** Metairie Bank seizes any and all opportunities to defraud its customers for monetary gain via ambiguous fees and other dubious methods. Sadly, I've had the misfortune of being victimized by these predators. In the late 1980s, I opened my first savings account as an adult. I had a few hundred dollars saved when I moved several miles away. I changed my address and continued to receive statements at my new address until I received a statement showing a zero balance. I called Metairie Bank and was told since I hadn't withdrawn money from my account they charged it off. I was told it was a new policy and that they mailed this information to me. Funny, I received every statement but nothing about this "new policy." A few years ago, I decided to try the bank again since it is one of the last local banks. This was a huge mistake. Sometime back, I had a couple of checks clear my bank that were obvious forgeries. I contacted the bank and was told there was nothing I could do since the checks already cleared; it was too late for a stop payment. Since they did nothing to help me, I ended up paying several hundred dollars in fees as a result of these unexpected debts. I recently learned the bank was supposed to refund the money to me and eat the fraud charges according to the state of Louisiana, but again this got me nowhere. I was told nothing could be done after 30 days. I could list several more examples of how they pilfered my account, but it would take too long. They use stealthy methods to hide their actions hoping customers will not notice.

Only been twice to cash checks (not a member of Metairie Bank), but cashiers were friendly and quick with no lines at all.
