Wish I could give Lumen/CenturyLink 0 stars. This is the absolute worst Internet service provider on the planet. Avoid them at all costs! Pay more for a different service provider, it will save you the complete and utter madness associated from dealing with this company. Our company upgraded our service that we'd over paid on for years to a newer, faster and better service that cost more. now they don't want to honor the upgrade and shutoff the service we replaced even though their team sent us the agreement as and Upgrade service. Why would we add a higher speed service connecting the same locations and keep the old slow service? On top of it all we now have new Account reps, the fourth in 22 months. No wonder they can't keep track of anything. So if your considering them remember the old catch phrase "Just say No!"

I have been with CenturyLink for 9 years with virtual no issues with either my land line phone or DSL internet services. Yes, I still have a land line because it it the most reliable. I do wish they had faster internet speed but I understand the practical and physical limitations of DSL and I would take reliability over speed any day.

We've been with CenturyLink for several years now and have been fortunate to not have any problems because if you call you are on hold for a long, long, long, long time.
We updated to a fiber network in our area and I am trying to cancel our service. The fiber network is offering 1GB speed for $10.00 more than we are being charged for 80MB DSL. That price will go up another $10/month after our year but for 10 times faster downloads and 100 times faster uploads it is worth it.
I tried to do the disconnect online, only to be guided through the process and end up with a message that we can't disconnect online. The message then said to try chat or call the 800 number. So, I tried chat and they said they could not to it and provided a link to click to disconnect service. That ended in the same result. If they KNOW that they will not cancel online or through chat why do they bother giving you hope. I will tell you why; they do everything they can to get you to keep the service then after you tell them that you already had the other, faster service installed they ask if you'd like to keep them on as a backup service.
I've been on hold now for over an hour, listening to the crappy hold music. My rating started out with 3 stars but if no one picks up soon is going to 2 stars.
AH! They picked up finally, so will leave at a 3 star.
Got my cancellation confirmation number and a UPS label to send back the modem.

I had Century Link for a trial period in 2014. The shit never worked and technicians were at my house constantly.
One technician told me that Century Link works on old infrastructure that they never replace.

I live in Marianna, Florida and today is July 9, 2024. We have had no Internet or Wi-Fi for two days due to a general outage? And there’s no telling when it’s gonna be repaired I’d like to know what’s going on and have a timeframe for when I can expect service again, and I hope we receive a credit for the days we don’t have service

Wanted my money back for installation service cause they never showed up. They were going to refund me my money and drained my entire bank account. Over $600. Do not use this company.

We were with Century Link for about a year and a half. We had wifi issues consistently during this time and I had to call customer service frequently. The agents were never helpful and wouldn't send a technician to the house to look at what was done during the initial set up and installation.
The technician who installed and set it up at the house when we first started service told us there were some complications with the wiring and location of installation in the house. He expressed that there could be problems to follow. I expressed this many times when I called for help, but I was told one of two things repeatedly, that we would have to pay $100 for a technician to come out, or simply that they wouldn't send someone out.
After a year and a half of this, we decided to look for new options in our area, since when we started service with Century Link it was largely due to a lack of other providers. Thankfully we found an option and it has been working out beautifully. No service issues, excellent customer service, and much faster than the service through you for the same price.
I'd heard many bad things about Century Link prior to becoming a customer but again, there really weren't any other options at the time. You'd think that when things change and you end up having competition, you might step up your game, but no. The service, both internet and customer, were bad to begin with and have only gotten worse.
If some bazaar thing were to happen, and Century Link was suddenly the only option again, I would just stop using the internet. I would rather adjust to a life without internet than deal with your company again. That's how bad this experience has been.
Goodbye forever.

Impossible to talk to a human. Good luck getting a robot to answer your questions or fix your problems. Always the absolute worst customer service.

Is possible you could read these reviews? Your infrastructure and service is from 1987. How can you ask people to pay for a service that never works,....and your tech teams suggestions are always, buy a new router....and wait 2 weeks to receive.
